Appearance • Bats are mammals. • Bats are mostly black and brown. • Bats have a six foot wingspan. • Bats appear very cute but are vicious. • Male bats are called males. • Woman are called female.
Food • Bats eat fruit, flowers, pollen, nectar, other bats, insects, small animals, frogs, fish, and blood. • They can eat slow or fast. • They eat all 24 hours.
Young • A baby bat is called a pup. • Bats have one to six babies. • The mother bat brings back food for the pup.
Enemies • The enemies of the bat are owls, snakes, hawks, and man kind. • Bats protect themselves by flying away or biting.
Communication and Relatives • Bats communicate by screeching, or songs. • The bat is related to primates.
Interesting Facts • Bats can eat up to six times their own weight. • Bats can be good for eating mosquitoes and grasshoppers but otherwise, they would not make a good pet.
