When do I merge and when do I change Patient Id’s
Use PCCK when you have 1 patient ID and it needs to be changed.
Patient had a psuedo number – ABC070411
Now they have a real social
Make sure that the new number does not already exist on the Portal. You can do this by doing a patient search on Portal.
If the new number does exist, then you will want to do the
Use MPAT when you have 1 patient that exist in the system with more than 1 ID.
Patient exist with a psuedo number ABC070411
And they also exist with a social
Make sure that both numbers do exist on the Portal. You can find out by doing a Patient Search on the Portal.
Both patient records will still exist. You need to go to the old id and change the record status to INACTIVE.
DO NOT merge a social back to the psuedo and then change the psuedo to a social.
