    4. Course Offerings Approximately 60 SSP courses offered in the Fall Pre-approved courses in other GU departments Consortium courses Summer courses Language courses Study abroad Summer in Florence, Italy: International Law and Security

    5. Full-time = 3-4 courses per semester (9-12 credits) Part-time = 2 courses per semester (6 credits) Students must take at least 2 courses per semester Must complete the program in 3 academic years Full-Time Versus Part-time Status

Course Schedule Each course meets once a week in one of the following time blocks: 3:30 - 5:00 pm 5:00 – 7:30 pm 6:30 – 9:00 pm View the schedule of classes online Search “Dynamic Schedule” from GU homepage (www.georgetown.edu) Select “Fall 2011 Class Schedule - Main Campus” Under “Subject”, select “Security Studies” You may enter a course number to search for a particular course, or leave the box blank to see all SSP course offerings for the semester Click “class search” button at the bottom of the page to view results

    7. Certificate Programs SFS offers five certificate programs (visit individual websites online) Arab Studies Asian Studies Eurasian, Russian and East European Studies International Business Diplomacy Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies

All students assigned a faculty advisor based upon selected concentration and academic interests Meet with faculty advisor at Orientation and throughout time in the program For questions about registration, fulfilling requirements, and course planning, please meet with the Academic Counselor (Melissa Kamin) Academic Advising

Thursday, August 25th and Friday, August 26th Date assigned by concentrations Some activities will occur over BOTH days, so please hold these two days on your calendar More information will be sent out in July We will be contacting you in the summer with important information on course planning and preparing you to come to Orientation as informed as possible Orientation

    10. Fall 2011 registration will be on Monday, August 29th for new students Classes begin on Wednesday, August 31st Spring 2012 registration will take place in early November Registration
