  1. A Guide to Coloring Stainless Steel The manufacturing method of a standard color stainless steel sheet isn't simply sprayed a thin layer of colorants over the stainless steel surface, this is done through more intricate methods, and is accomplished much more thoroughly. Stainless steel that has been stained is an irregular shiny surface. One of the most common ways that this is accomplished is by etching. The etching is the chemical process in which various colored pigments are sprayed onto a stainless steel piece or product. This is then allowed to dry and oxidize, and when properly done, the colors become evened out and blended to create a finished product. There are several different methods used to etch colored stainless steel sheets. Some of these processes include, however, using abrasive substances such as silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, or carbon black. This coloring agent is often added to steel before being painted or polished. The reason for this is because it allows for a more even and smooth finished product. The most well-known name for this process is called a black oxide coating. Another method of creating a color stainless steel sheet is developed with the sputtering coloring process. This process involves using a fine stream of coloring compounds that are released from either a spray gun or bottle, into the piece that is to be colored. This process must be done carefully because excessive pressure can cause the compound to be splashed onto other areas of the piece, and this will

If the cleaning procedures are not complete then the final color result may not be what was intended. FOSHAN FEROSTEEL provides the most common type of coloring that is used in the creation of colored stainless steel sheets is the Permanent Color Spray, which is a synthetic compound that reacts chemically with the metal it is used on. The chemicals are specially designed to react with the surface of the metal, change its color, and alter the properties by affecting the electrons on their atoms. Most commonly, this is used on motorcycle parts and other items that are susceptible to wear resistance. There are other places that the Permanent Color Spray is used, such as in stamps, decals, and stamps meant for food service, and other industries that require color fasteners. The versatility of this coloring agent makes it useful in many different applications. Other chemicals that can be used in the creation of colored stainless steel sheets involve the utilization of heat. A process called quenching involves using an extremely hot bath that is filled with an anti-freeze and quenching the item that is being colored. This method was originally designed to color railroad tracks, and can sometimes contain other chemicals that aid in the transformation of the metal. These coloring agents have another advantage over the other synthetic compound alternatives: they are capable of withstanding more wear than their counterparts. They can withstand a greater amount of heat, which allows them to be used in a wider variety of complex processes. When processing colored stainless steel sheets, a process called sandblasting is often used to achieve the desired effect. This process involves using a heavy-duty drum containing water, sand, and an abrasive material on the surface of the item being colored. This is the most popular way to go about producing colored stainless steel sheets.
