  1. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD There are Five types of Leaven mentioned in the New Testament Leaven of Herod Leaven of the Pharisees Leaven of the Sadducees Leaven of Galatia Leaven of Corinth

  2. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Leaven Naturally What is leaven? Leaven or yeast is a little bit of sour dough, and when placed in a batch of dough has the action of fermentation. Leaven puffs up. It works silently, secretly and gradually, until the whole is leavened. All the dough is affected by its mysterious operation and fermentation. It causes the dough to rise. Its influence permeates the whole until all is leavened, until all becomes like itself. The Hebrew word used for leavening in Scripture is Chametz. It literally means 'sour'. It is that essence by which things decay. It is a fermentation process - a process of death.

  3. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Leaven Spiritually The word leaven occurs ninety-eight times in the Bible— seventy-five times in the Old Testament and about twenty-three times in the New Testament—and it is always used in a bad sense except once in Matthew 13:33. In every other instance that leaven is used in scripture it is used to symbolize evil, either in doctrine or practice. Leaven typifies sin, human weakness, infirmities, false doctrine, and corrupt practices. The Hebrew word used for leavening in Scripture is Chametz. It literally means 'sour'. It is that essence by which things decay. It is a fermentation process - a process of death.

  4. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD There are Five types of Leaven mentioned in the New Testament The Leaven of the Herodians is the Love of the world(King Herod Loved the World) 1Jn 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1Jn 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. Mark 8:15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod. King Herod was an Unscrupulous, crafty, immoral, cruel, lustful, decietful, cunning and murderous man.

  5. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven we want to look at is the Leaven of the Pharisees. Mark 8:15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod. Luke 12:1 ……Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

  6. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven of the Sadducees is agnosticism. When your Dead your Dead! Tongues are not for today! There is no afterlife! Matthew 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. The sadducees did not believe in the supernatural, no angels, no miracles, no resurrection , nor did they believe in spirits. They were the agnostics of their day.

  7. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven of the Galicia is Legalism I can’t eat delicious Baby back ribs from Outback! It’s pork! Gal 5:4 You who are trying to be justified by law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. Gal 5:5 But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope. Gal 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. Gal 5:7 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you and kept you from obeying the truth? Gal 5:8 That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. Gal 5:9 A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.

  8. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven of Corinth is Sensuality Pro 30:20 Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness. Pro 6:26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. 1Co 5:1 IT IS actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, impurity of a sort that is condemned and does not occur even among the heathen; for a man has [his own] father's wife. [Deut. 22:30; 27:20.]

  9. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven of Corinth is Sensuality The temple of Aphrodite ruins History Corinth is located in southern Greece about 50 miles from Athens. Corinth controlled the two major harbors and thus command of the trade routes between Asia and Rome. In Corinth you could find the cults of the gods of Egypt, Rome and Greece. The temple of Aphrodite, the false goddess of love & sex , stood atop the Acrocorinth. The word aphrodisiac comes from this false goddess of love & sex.

  10. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven of Corinth is Sensuality The temple of Aphrodite ruins View from the Acrocorinth "A famous temple to Aphrodite had stood on the summit of Acrocorinth in the Classical Age... It had fallen into ruins by Paul's time, but successors to its 1,000 cult prostitutes continued to ply their profession in the city below. The city was filled with sailors who gladly spent their money there. This temple gave Corinth it's reputation for gross immorality of which Paul often spoke

  11. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven of Corinth is Sensuality Corinth was an especially licentious city, a reputation it seems to have had in ancient times. The name "Corinth" became synonymous for immorality. one of the Greek verbs for fornicate was korinthiazomai, a word derived from the city's name. "Corinth had a reputation for commercial prosperity, but she was also a byword for evil living. The very word korinthiazesthai, to live like a Corinthian, had become a part of the Greek language, and meant to live with drunken and immoral debauchery

  12. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven of Corinth is Sensuality In the midst of this city Paul planted the Church at Corinth. The Corinthians were a very gifted church in Fact The letters to Corinth teach us the most about the Gifts. The were also a church that allowed gross immorality in its midst. 1Co 5:1 IT IS actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, impurity of a sort that is condemned and does not occur even among the heathen; for a man has [his own] father's wife. [Deut. 22:30; 27:20.] 1Co 5:2 And you are proud and arrogant! And you ought rather to mourn (bow in sorrow and in shame) until the person who has done this [shameful] thing is removed from your fellowship and your midst! 1Co 5:3 As for my attitude, though I am absent [from you] in body, I am present in spirit, and I have already decided and passed judgment, as if actually present,

  13. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Sensuality was leavening the church at Corinth pornography The Leaven of sexual sin Lust Lesbian incest immorality Sex Sin Homosexuality Fornication The Church

  14. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD God has not changed. His word is still the same Money! Money! Money! Drunk as a skunk! We don’t need to get married let’s live together! Lets get married My wife doesn't know! You !@#*(* 1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality, 1Co 6:10 Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.

  15. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven of Corinth is Sensuality I’m a loser who wants to kill, steal and destroy You should be with me not dad! How can it be wrong ? When It feels so right. 1Co 5:4 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, on the man who has committed such a deed. When you and my own spirit are met together with the power of our Lord Jesus, 1Co 5:5 You are to deliver this man over to Satan for physical discipline [to destroy carnal lusts which prompted him to incest], that [his] spirit may [yet] be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

  16. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Here Paul is invoking divine Discipline that this man might be saved! The Doctor said I have 3 Months to live! I need Jesus! Our incestuous affair is over! It was wrong from the start! Let me at Him! 1Co 5:5 You are to deliver this man over to Satan for physical discipline [to destroy carnal lusts which prompted him to incest], that [his] spirit may [yet] be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

  17. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD This brings up the subject of Divine Discipline Paul used this divine discipline for those who would not repent Paul is so off base he doesn't know what he is talking about. Yeah I Know! I love false Doctrines of devils! 1Ti 1:18 This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; 1Ti 1:19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: 1Ti 1:20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

  18. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD What did they do? they taught heresy! The Resurrection is past I have a revelation no one else has. Faith Shipwrecked Faith 2Ti 2:16 But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness. 2Ti 2:17 And their teaching [will devour; it] will eat its way like cancer or spread like gangrene. So it is with Hymenaeus and Philetus, 2Ti 2:18 Who have missed the mark and swerved from the truth by arguing that the resurrection has already taken place. They are undermining the faith of some.

  19. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Divine Discipline is used for those who do not properly discern the Body of Christ 1Co 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 1Co 11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. 1Co 11:30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. 1Co 11:33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another. 1Co 11:34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

  20. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Some in the church today doesn't think Divine discipline exists, but it Does! Jesus invoked Divine Discipline against a prophetess he called Jezebel. Church was Good today! Come lie down with me. Are you sure this is okay to have sex when were not married? Rev 2:20 But I have this against you: that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess [claiming to be inspired], and who is teaching and leading astray my servants and beguiling them into practicing sexual vice and eating food sacrificed to idols. [I Kings 16:31; II Kings 9:22, 30.] Rev 2:21 I gave her time to repent, but she has no desire to repent of her immorality [symbolic of idolatry] and refuses to do so.

  21. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Some in the church today doesn't think Divine discipline exists but it Does! Jesus invoked Divine Discipline against a prophetess he called Jezebel This is Divine Judgment! Her disciples! I should have repented when I had the chance! Rev 2:22 Take note: I will throw her on a bed [of anguish], and those who commit adultery with her [her paramours] I will bring down to pressing distress and severe affliction, unless they turn away their minds from conduct [such as] hers and repent of their doings. Rev 2:23 And I will strike her children (her proper followers) dead [thoroughly exterminating them]. And all the assemblies (churches) shall recognize and understand that I am He Who searches minds (the thoughts, feelings, and purposes) and the [inmost] hearts, and I will give to each of you [the reward for what you have done] as your work deserves. [Ps. 62:12; Jer. 17:10.]

  22. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD We must cut off or Purge out these behaviors from amongst the saints. Behavior tolerated is behavior perpetuated Sex Sins Pastor Godly correction Word of God Church 1Co 5:6 [About the condition of your church] your boasting is not good [indeed, it is most unseemly and entirely out of place]. Do you not know that [just] a little leaven will ferment the whole lump [of dough]? 1Co 5:7 Purge (clean out) the old leaven that you may be fresh (new) dough, still uncontaminated [as you are], for Christ, our Passover [Lamb], has been sacrificed.

  23. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD I have just got into a new Pyramid scheme Let’s Go to lunch Brother Pastor Joe told me about guys like you. 1Co 5:8 Therefore, let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of vice and malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened [bread] of purity (nobility, honor) and sincerity and [unadulterated] truth. [Exod. 12:19; 13:7; Deut. 16:3.] 1Co 5:9 I wrote you in my [previous] letter not to associate [closely and habitually] with unchaste (impure) people– 1Co 5:10 Not [meaning of course that you must] altogether shun the immoral people of this world, or the greedy graspers and cheats and thieves or idolaters, since otherwise you would need to get out of the world and human society altogether! 1Co 5:11 But now I write to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of [Christian] brother if he is known to be guilty of immorality or greed, or is an idolater [whose soul is devoted to any object that usurps the place of God], or is a person with a foul tongue [railing, abusing, reviling, slandering], or is a drunkard or a swindler or a robber. [No] you must not so much as eat with such a person.

  24. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD It seems today this is a Major leaven in our society and has permeated Radio, Television, Magazines, The Internet and every strata of society including the Church. This is not an issue about gay or straight, this is an issue about civil rights,” said Sharpton. “And to take a position to limit the civil rights of anyone is to take a position to limit the civil rights of everyone. You cannot be a part-time civil rights activist. You cannot be for civil rights for African-Americans, but not for gays and lesbians.” South Africa's Nobel peace laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu says he will never worship a "homophobic God" and will rather go to hell. "Who am I to judge a gay person of goodwill who seeks the Lord?"

  26. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD It seems today this is a Major leaven in our society and has permeated Radio, Television, Magazines, The Internet and every strata of society including the Church. Nobody Knows my secret I’m bound by lust! I wish I was Free! Porn's Stranglehold Seventy percent of American men ages 18–34 view Internet pornography once a month. This shocking fact is one of many that CT consulting editor John W. Kennedy found during his research for this month's cover story, "Help for the Sexually Desperate"

  27. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD It seems today this is a Major leaven in our society and has permeated Radio, Television, Magazines, The Internet and every strata of society including the Church. Dial 1-800- hot talk Let’s pray for deliverance I should be reading my Bible Don't assume that porn isn't a problem in the church. One evangelical leader was skeptical of survey findings that said 50 percent of Christian men have looked at porn recently. So he surveyed his own congregation. He found that 60 percent had done so within the past year, and 25 percent within the past 30 days. Other surveys reveal that one in three visitors to adult websites are women.

  28. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD It seems today this is a Major leaven in our society and has permeated Radio, Television, Magazines, The Internet and every strata of society including the Church. I’ve got you bound with the chains of compromise Christian I want Freedom from Porn Porn is gaining a stranglehold on mainstream American culture. One reason is the false message that porn viewing is harmless and socially acceptable for the sexually frustrated. One reason it is not harmless is the number of casual porn viewers who end up sexually addicted. The term sexual addiction is only 25 years old. But it describes the very real problem of extreme sexual behavior that is destructive to self and others. In his research, John found that experts believe tens of millions of people are addicted to sex.

  29. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven of Corinth is Sensuality • “In a poll of 1,000 respondents, 50 percent of Christian men and 20 percent of Christian women were found to be addicted to pornography.” [CFL NOTE: Be careful interpreting the word “addicted.” In polls and stats, it can mean “totally given over to” or “viewed once in the last 6 months.” In other words, not all classified as “addicted” may be truly “addicted.”] • 51% of pastors say cyberporn is a possible temptation. 37% say it is a current struggle (Christianity Today, Leadership Survey, December 2001). • 4 in 10 pastors have visited a porn site (Christianity Today, Leadership Survey, December 2001). • 17.8% of all "born again" Christian adults (in America) have visited sexually-oriented Websites (Zogby survey conducted for Focus on the Family, 2000). • 34% of readers of Today's Christian Woman's online newsletter admitted to intentionally accessing Internet porn

  30. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven of Corinth is Sensuality • A 2003 survey from Internet Filter Review reported that 47 percent of Christians admit pornography is a major problem in their homes. • An internet survey conducted by Rick Warren of Saddleback Church in 2002 found 30 percent of 6,000 pastors had viewed internet porn in the last 30 days. • A Christianity Today Leadership Survey in 2001 reported 37 percent of pastors have viewed internet porn. • Family Safe Media reports 53 percent of men belonging to the Christian organization Promise Keepers visit porn sites every week. • One in seven calls to Focus on the Family’s Pastoral Care Hotline is related to internet pornography. • Today’s Christian Woman in 2003 found that one in six women, including Christians, struggles with pornography addiction.

  31. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven of Corinth is Sensuality Fornication- porneuo,porn-yoo'-o; (porne); to act the harlot, Graphy-writings Pornography- The writings of a prostitute. (a picture is worth a thousand words) Jas 4:4 You [are like] unfaithful wives [having illicit love affairs with the world and breaking your marriage vow to God]! Do you not know that being the world's friend is being God's enemy? So whoever chooses to be a friend of the world takes his stand as an enemy of God. 1Jn 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1Jn 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1Jn 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.

  32. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Like Corinth many of our churches today are filled with people with no fear of God. They listen to unconvicting messages that cater to their carnal desires. They are tolerant of sexual sins of fornication, (shacking up) homosexuality & Adulterous behavior. 2Ti 4:3 (NIV)For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 2Ti 4:4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

  33. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The book of Jude describes our day.......Ungodly! Jud 1:14 Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones Jud 1:15 to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way,(lifestyle) and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” Jesus describes our day.......as the days of Lot! Luk 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; Luk 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. The cure is live pure! 2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 2Co 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

  34. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD As a Disciple of Jesus Christ we must Guard our Heart How many windows do we have to look out of? David had one! 300 Channels David & Bathsheba Psa 101:3 I will set no base or wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the work of them who turn aside [from the right path]; it shall not grasp hold of me.

  35. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD As Disciple of Jesus Christ we must Guard our Heart I’m so ashamed Evil longings Lust Porn Unclean thoughts Num 32:23 …and you may be sure that your sin will find you out. Pro 4:23 Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flow the springs of life. Pro 25:26 Like a muddied fountain and a polluted spring is a righteous man who yields, falls down, and compromises his integrity before the wicked.

  36. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Part of Guarding your heart is to be careful what you see Ohhh Baby! I’m guarding my heart Lam 3:51 Mine eye affecteth mine heart ........... Matthew 5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Psalm 101:3 (NLIV) I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar • Job 31:1 I DICTATED a covenant (an agreement) to my eyes; how then could I look [lustfully] upon a girl?

  37. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Through our eyes and ears unfaithfulness begins in the mind, drops into heart, Is spoken with our mouth, and lived out in out actions. I’m watching you! Creepy! Mar 7:21 For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, Mar 7:22 greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. Mar 7:23 All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean.' “  Jas 1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Jas 1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

  38. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Lets keep ourselves from this leaven! Php 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.   Psa 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
