  1. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD There are Five types of Leaven mentioned in the New Testament Leaven of the Pharisees Leaven of the Sadducees Leaven of Herod Leaven of Galatia Leaven of Corinth

  2. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Leaven Naturally What is leaven? Leaven or yeast is a little bit of sour dough, and when placed in a batch of dough has the action of fermentation. Leaven puffs up. It works silently, secretly and gradually, until the whole is leavened. All the dough is affected by its mysterious operation and fermentation. It causes the dough to rise. Its influence permeates the whole until all is leavened, until all becomes like itself. The Hebrew word used for leavening in Scripture is Chametz. It literally means 'sour'. It is that essence by which things decay. It is a fermentation process - a process of death.

  3. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Leaven Spiritually The word leaven occurs ninety-eight times in the Bible— seventy-five times in the Old Testament and about twenty-three times in the New Testament—and it is always used in a bad sense except once in Matthew 13:33. In every other instance that leaven is used in scripture it is used to symbolize evil, either in doctrine or practice. Leaven typifies sin, human weakness, infirmities, false doctrine, and corrupt practices. The Hebrew word used for leavening in Scripture is Chametz. It literally means 'sour'. It is that essence by which things decay. It is a fermentation process - a process of death.

  4. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Leaven we want to look at is the Leaven of the Pharisees. Mark 8:15 And he charged them, saying, Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod.

  5. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Mat 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heedandbewareoftheleavenofthePhariseesandoftheSadducees. Mat 16:7 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, Itis because we have taken no bread. Mat 16:8Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, Oye of little faith, whyreasonyeamongyourselves, becauseyehavebroughtnobread? Dude! You are so dumb! You forgot the Bread!

  6. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Mat 16:9Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? Mat 16:10Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? Oh Yeah! I remember ! The 5000 people & the 4000 People!

  7. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Mat 16:11How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees Mat 16:12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine (teaching) of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Dude! You are so slow!

  8. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Jesus tells us what this Leaven is Luke 12:1 ……Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

  9. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Hypocrisyis to be an Actor Really I’m 25 How about a Date! hypocrisy-hoop-ok'-ree-sis From G5271; actingunder a feigned part; that is, (figuratively) deceit (“hypocrisy”): - condemnation, dissimulation, hypocrisy.

  10. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD • Hypocrisy is also doing the right thing with a wrong motive! I hope they see me praying Did they see what I gave? I’m a Pharisee. I give for show and I pray for dough Mat 6:2Thereforewhenthoudoestthinealms,donotsound a trumpetbeforethee, asthehypocritesdointhesynagoguesandinthestreets, thattheymayhave gloryofmen.VerilyIsayuntoyou,Theyhavetheirreward. Mat 6:5Andwhenthouprayest,thoushaltnotbeasthehypocritesare:fortheylovetopraystandinginthesynagoguesandinthecornersofthestreets,thattheymaybeseenofmen.VerilyIsayuntoyou,Theyhavetheirreward.

  11. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Hypocrisy is to have the appearance of being something that is not. I love you Martha But not for real you actor! Dude! Your full of sin! • 2Ti 3:5(AMP) For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]. Avoid [all] such people [turn away from them].

  12. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Lets Take a Look at the Pharisees I like to watch Sid Roth “Its supernatural” I never miss a program! The Pharisees believed in the supernatural, Angels, Miracles, Resurrections.

  13. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD This is amazing! Jesus acknowledged the authority he gave the Pharisees! Mat 23:1 THEN JESUS said to the multitudes and to His disciples, Mat 23:2The scribes and Pharisees sit on Moses' seat [of authority]. Mat 23:3So observe and practice all they tell you

  14. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees life spoke volumes while their lips prayed prayers! Lust, Hate, Murder, Greed Mat 23:1 THEN JESUS said to the multitudes and to His disciples, Mat 23:2The scribes and Pharisees sit on Moses' seat [of authority]. Mat 23:3So observe and practice all they tell you; but do not do what they do, for they preach, but do not practice.

  15. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD This is the Leaven of saying and not doing! I can’t hear you ! Your life is speaking to Loud! Jas 1:22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

  16. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees were self Righteous Luk 18:10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. Luk 18:11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. Luk 18:12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. Luk 18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. Luk 18:14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

  17. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD They loved their tradition more than people or God! Luk 13:14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the Sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day.

  18. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD They loved their tradition more than people or God! You gonna water your ox? Is anybody looking? Luk 13:15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? Luk 13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?

  19. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Their Traditions were written in a Book called the Talmud The Jews had evolved many traditions around the Sabbath day. The Talmud has 24 chapters on how to keep the Sabbath Mat 15:1 Then came to Jesus scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Mat 15:2 Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. Mat 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, WhydoyealsotransgressthecommandmentofGodbyyourtradition?

  20. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD They loved Their traditions more than God & they loved to tell others what to do! • TraditionOn the Sabbath • you were only allowed to bear the weight of two dried figs. So many rules burden me down! I’m not moving nothing! Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

  21. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD They loved to tell others what to do & not do them themselves! • Tradition On the Sabbath • You had to take out your false teeth before the Sabbath if they weighed more than 2 dried figs Hold these please. It’s the Sabbath! I need my teeth to eat! Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

  22. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD They loved to tell others what to do! • . Tradition On the Sabbath • You were only allowed to go 3000 feet from your home on the Sabbath. The exception was if you attached a string from your house before the sun went down on Friday you could travel 3000 feet from the end of the string. If an item you owned were dropped 3000 feet from your house that was considered an extension of your house. This water Park is still my house! Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

  23. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD They loved to tell others what to do! • . Tradition On the Sabbath • You were not allowed to spit on a rock on the sabbath. If you spit on a rock and the spit rolled on to the dirt itwas considered plowing. If it hits the rock he’s plowing! 5 Denair says he misses! Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

  24. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD They loved to tell others what to do! • . TraditionOn the Sabbath • A woman was not allowed to look in a mirror on the Sabbath because if she saw a gray hair and pulled it out it was considered harvesting. She is Harvesting! What a crop! Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

  25. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD They loved to tell others what to do! . Tradition On the Sabbath You were not allowed to bath on the Sabbath because if water washed out of the tub and on the floor that was considered washing the floor. Why the Mask? It’s the Sabbath he can’t bathe! Mat 23:4 For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

  26. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees loved to show their piety Mat 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

  27. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees loved to be Honored I’ll scream Fire! Well make our move when he has to potty! The dirt bag! That Good seat is mine! Mat 23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

  28. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees loved to be Honored Ha Ha They called me Rabbi! Nobody greeted me as Rabbi! Mat 23:7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. Mat 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.

  29. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees locked the door to Heaven You must go through me to get to God! Mat 23:13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

  30. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees loved Money That widow is loaded! I’ll pray louder to get her attention! He looks pretty Holy! I’ll give him a donation. Mat 23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

  31. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees loved to make converts like themselves! Sounds Good You sinner, I will make you double the Pharisee I am! Mat 23:15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

  32. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Money controlled the Pharisees Devotion ! I can’t see a thing! Let me show you the way! Mat 23:16 Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor! Mat 23:17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

  33. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Money controlled the Pharisees Devotion ! All I can see is green! Godliness is Gain! Mat 23:18 And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty. Mat 23:19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift Mat 23:20 Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.

  34. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees Tithed faithfully but ignored the more important commands ! Look at that scum! Get a Job Loser! Mat 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

  35. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees Tithed faithfully but ignored the more important commands ! Open wide! Mat 23:24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

  36. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees cleaned the outside of their cups thoroughly before eating. All manner of sin & vice! The outside looks Good! My heart is as dirty as that Bowl! Mat 23:25 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Mat 23:26 Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

  37. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Jesus is speaking of Jewish burial boxes where bones are moved after the body decays. I’m a walking Grave! iniquity hypocrisy Mat 23:27 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Mat 23:28 Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

  38. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD The Pharisees Tithed faithfully but ignored the more important commands ! Mar 14:55 And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none. Jeremiah was a true prophet! We must put Jesus to death! iniquity hypocrisy Mat 23:29 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchers of the righteous, Mat 23:30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Mat 23:31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Mat 23:32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

  39. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Jesus likened the Pharisees to vipers Pharisee Mat 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Mat 23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city: Mat 23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zechariah son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. Mat 23:32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

  40. FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 A.D. Mat 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Mat 23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. Mat 23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
