  1. BDI-2 NormativeUpdate • What is the BDI-2 NormativeUpdate? • The BDI-2 Normative Update (NU) was created due to changes in demographic characteristics of the USpopulation. • The norms were recalculated using recent census estimates (U.S. Census Bureau,2014).

  3. What does this mean forus? Will there be new materials that I need topurchase? • No changes were made to the test structure, items, or itemcontent! • However, a new BDI-2 NU Examiner’s Manual will be published to include the updated normstables. • If you are hand scoring and use the BDI-2 NU norms, youmust purchase the new examinermanual • It is not necessary to purchase new test records or student workbooks. Please continue to use your current BDI-2 test records and student workbooks untildepleted. • If the BDI-2 NU norms are used for an evaluation on the existing forms, simply write "BDI-2 NU" at the top of the form as a reminder to use BDI-2 NU norms in the Data Manager website duringscoring.

  4. What does this mean forus? • For those of you that use the BDI-2 Data Manager for scoring and reporting, automatic access to boththe BDI-2 and BDI-2 NU norms will beavailable. • This is the same for the MobileData Solution (MDS) users aswell.

  5. Which Normative Set Should WeUse? • The Normative update will take place on September30th. • Beginning October 3rd ALL New assessments should begin utilizing the updated BDI-2 NU new norms for scoring and reporting. • If the BDI-2 norms were used for and entry assessment it is best practice to use the same normative set for the exit assessments (Doing so reduces score differences between entry andexit assessments that may be the result of difference in the normative set used to derive thescores).

  6. Click on New CompleteAssessment

  7. New Norms Available –Resume/Edit Click on the Date link in the First Datecolumn Users will now see BDI-2 NU Norms as a Norm Type selection on the Edit Complete Assessment and Edit Screenerpages.

  8. When selecting the ChildReport Users will now see BDI-2 NU Norms as a selection for NormingPeriod
