  1. Networking session: to discuss future initiatives and collaborative projects in the field identifying the Needs of Medical First Responders in Disasters INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOPS ORGANIZED BY SINERGIE Torino, November 10-12 (2008) Human impact of disasters Training methodology and technology NMFRDisasterWORKSHOP ON ETHICAL, LEGAL AND SOCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF FIRST RESPONSE IN DISASTERS - ORGANIZED BY CSSC – Rome Dec. 11-12 (2008)

  2. Future R&D in training and human impact for MFRs THE STARTING POINT Educational and training should be built up on identified needs and change accordingly Education programs blend with the ability of an organization to reflect on itself and to establish its own needs, according to its human resources TRAINING There is a lack or insufficient research in some fields: e.g. training efficacy, learning methodologies for FRs NMFRDisasterWORKSHOP ON ETHICAL, LEGAL AND SOCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF FIRST RESPONSE IN DISASTERS - ORGANIZED BY CSSC – Rome Dec. 11-12 (2008)

  3. Future R&D in training and human impact for MFRs Unfortunately there is a lack of consensus on what courses ought to contain NEED The development of professional standards and educational programs based on both the evidence and sound educational theory remains an important gap to be filled TRAINING RESULTING QUESTIONS How will academic research choose more useful and familiar to rescuers and practitioners language? How the persistent difficulty of highlighting the applicability of the researches to the field will be overcame? NMFRDisasterWORKSHOP ON ETHICAL, LEGAL AND SOCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF FIRST RESPONSE IN DISASTERS - ORGANIZED BY CSSC – Rome Dec. 11-12 (2008)

  4. Future R&D in training and human impact for MFRs New challenge and keyword: INTEROPERABILITY NEED Systematic development and application of common organisational and training standards, both at national and international level, for the enhancement of mutual recognition and interoperability. Not only drills and training on field, but building common and interoperable professional standards. TRAINING RESULTING QUESTION How will be possible to overcome the actual impermeability among structures? NMFRDisasterWORKSHOP ON ETHICAL, LEGAL AND SOCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF FIRST RESPONSE IN DISASTERS - ORGANIZED BY CSSC – Rome Dec. 11-12 (2008)

  5. Future R&D in training and human impact for MFRs New research and answers for changing perceptions, feelings and societies There is a need to extend the research: from single categories and disciplines, to the community where the FR is from and in which operates with a multidisciplinary approach. Research has to face a changing man and society in supporting human impact to disasters. HUMAN IMPACT NMFRDisasterWORKSHOP ON ETHICAL, LEGAL AND SOCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF FIRST RESPONSE IN DISASTERS - ORGANIZED BY CSSC – Rome Dec. 11-12 (2008)

  6. Future R&D in training and human impact for MFRs RED Project final meeting We created two major tools to enhance rescuers’ well-being: - a questionnaire to specifically assess individual emergency workers' well-being - in terms of their subjective perceptions- with reference to the quality of their lives in general, but mostly, to their working lives, with the aim of pinpointing which dimensions can impact them more positively or negatively - 2 training programmes for operators and after-care providers HUMAN IMPACT NEED It is necessary to extend the research to a holistic concept of society. We are opened to collaboration proposals and networking NMFRDisasterWORKSHOP ON ETHICAL, LEGAL AND SOCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF FIRST RESPONSE IN DISASTERS - ORGANIZED BY CSSC – Rome Dec. 11-12 (2008)
