UNHCR/INEE PEACE EDUCATION PROGRAMME Structure • Structured sustained programme where skills and attitudes follow in a logical order building on the child’s cognitive and affective development. • Internal skills and values followed by the external application (or exercises for application).
Programme Structure Formal Education • 1 lesson per week of a structured programme every teaching week for 8 years (being expanded to 10 years) • A variety of games and activities to develop the skills and values • Teachers have 3 training sessions (between 5-10 days per session)
Programme Structure Non – Formal Education (Community programme) • A 36 hour course usually conducted over 12 half days. • 2 workshops per month per facilitator (or facilitation team) • Workshops run consistently for the year. • Concepts are explored and developed through activities, role plays, games and discussion.
