  25. Backup - SCT Barrel Hybrid (Pitch adaptor problem) • 2500 hybrids are required to produce the 2112+5% barrel modules • As of June 1st, 1333 hybrids have been produced; Of these: • ~ 200 have problematic pitch-adaptors . First problems were seen at about hybrid number 400, and then again after about hybrid 1200. • The problem is in the Aluminium metallization (on glass substrates). • The 2nd encounter was very severe and the vendor could not reproduce the previous good metallization even after numerous trials. • An alternative vendor has been identified and the quality of the PAs is being cross-checked by barrel clusters before resuming production. • Although the delivery of hybrids had stopped for 2-3 months, the hybrid production excluding the last PA attachment has continued . • Once the PA production is on track, the hybrid delivery will be much faster. AOW 2003 Prague - SCT Report

  26. All ASICs All ASICs Module Average Module Average Link 0 average Link 0 average Link 1 average Link 1 average Log(Occupancy) at 1fC (83 ref modules) Log(Occupancy) at 1fC (25 distorted-s modules) Backup - SCT Module s-curves • The SCT uses binary electronics and is calibrated using threshold scans i.e. the occupancy is measured as a function of the threshold level. • With no injected charge this gives the noise occupancy • Charge injection via a calibration capacitor gives efficiency • On some fraction of the modules the noise occupancy curves below the operating point of 1fC have ‘distorted s-curves’ • No significant differences seen in modules between standard modules and those with distorted s-curves. All noise occupancy values are more than factor 10 less than the specification AOW 2003 Prague - SCT Report
