  6. Promoting Career Training Programs through Website Promotion • Information regarding promoting career training programs through partners’ websites can be found under the Marketing Support/ Web Templates section on the Partner Website (www.gatlineducation.com/partner). • Partners with a hosted website need to feature a link on their department’s website to your hosted site (i.e. www.gatlineducation.com/partnername). • A descriptive paragraph regarding the types of courses they’re offering along with the link to the hosted site will result in high prospective student traffic . • Partners featuring the courses titles on their own departmental website need to access the Marketing Support/Web Templates section for examples of other partners who use the same promotion strategy. • Templates are available for use. Please have your webmaster contact your Account Manager if you’re interested in utilizing a website template. • Individual course description links are also available at the following link: http://www.gatlineducation.com/partner/web_templates.php

  7. Promoting Career Training Programs through Print Advertising • A partner’s catalog, along with how they feature the career training programs on their website, are easily the two most effective forms of promotion. • We encourage partners to dedicate at least one full page of their print catalogs to the career training programs they’re offering. • Catalog-ready layouts in Word format are available through the “Marketing Templates” link under the Marketing Support/ Web Templates section of the partner website. • Customizable one-page flyers for catalog use or individual marketing campaigns.

  8. Career Training Programs- Managing the Programs • We encourage partners to offer all of the career training programs. Partners will maximize their earning potential by offering the entire career training program catalog. • Partners who would like to keep their course catalog up-to-date by offering all of the career training programs should inform their account manager. The account manager will be sure all new course additions are automatically added to the partner’s program listing whenever they are launched. • We understand if you are not able to offer all of our career training programs due to conflict between courses that are already being offered by your department or another department at your institution.

  9. Career Training Programs- Managing the Programs Cont. • We make it very easy for partners to manage their career training program catalog. • By going to the Manage Courses tab at the top of the partner website and then clicking on the “How do we Add or Drop Career Training Programs?” link partners can gain access to one of our most widely used partner tools. • The program management tool allows the partner to add and drop courses at any time. Click the box next to the course title you wish to add or drop, click the submit button at the bottom of the window, and our internal database will update your course offering automatically, in real-time. This allows us to always know what each of our partners is offering. • If you use a hosted-website, the changes will be made automatically to your site. • If you are featuring the programs on your own website, the updates will need to be made by the individual managing the website on your end.

  11. Career Training Programs- Student Lead & Registration Process ed2go/GES utilizes two different prospective student lead and registration processes. ed2go/GES-Managed Registration Partner-Managed Registration Partner follows up with prospective students when they express interest in a career training program to answer questions and collect payment. The student pays the partner directly for the career training program. Course fee must be paid in full by student before registration can be completed. Partner fills out the “Register a Student Now” form on the partner website to notify our staff of the new registration. • Prospective students are directed to ed2go/GES when they express interest in a career training program. • ed2go/GES Admissions Counselors answer prospective student questions. • Student pays ed2go/GES directly for the career training program • Partner is kept in the loop by being copied on all lead emails generated by their hosted website. (See example on next slide)

  13. Career Training Programs- Billing and Invoicing ed2go/GES-Managed Registration Partner-Managed Registration The partner notifies ed2go/GES when a student has paid them for a career training program.* The ed2go/GES Accounting Dept. generates an invoice for the cost of the program and sends it to the partner. The difference between the cost and the retail price of the program is retained by the partner. Invoices will typically arrive 4-6 weeks after the partner has registered the student. • ed2go/GES notifies the partner via email when a new student has registered for a career training program. (See example on next slide) • A check for the difference between the cost of the program and the retail price of the program is sent to the partner for their portion of the course fee. • Checks will typically arrive 4-6 weeks after the student has enrolled in the career training program. * Partner should also notify ed2go/GES if they have arranged payment with a 3rd party funding the students career training program.

  15. Career Training Programs- New Student Process • An individual will begin the process of becoming a student in their online career training program once the ed2go/GES partner has received notification of a new student or submitted the new student notification form through the partner website. • The first correspondence we have with a student is an address confirmation and new student survey, sent via email, which we ask the individual to fill out and return immediately. • The second email a student receives from ed2go/GES is their Welcome Letter. This is the most critical message they receive. It provides them with their login information, instructor contact information and office hours, and course model overview. The partner will be copied on the welcome letter. • Following the welcome letter, a ed2go/GES Career Counselor will be contacting the student to ask them if they are interested in participating in the career services program. This provides the student with study schedules, resume building tips, and even job search assistance. • Materials are included with the majority of our career training programs. Materials are shipped directly to the student and typically take 5-7 business days to arrive.

  16. Career Training Programs- Student Experience • ed2go/GES online career training programs are comprised of the following components: • Required reading assignments • Online lectures - flash-based, interactive web-content • Assessments: • multiple choice quizzes • assignments posted for instructor • essay style activities • Discussion Forums • Chat, scheduled hours • Industry specific projects • Externships

  18. Career Training Programs- Financial Assistance • ed2go/GES has developed a unique Loan Program for those students who are in need of financial assistance. The loan program is essentially a payment plan which allows the student to make monthly payments on their course instead of paying the full amount up front. • Students can apply for the ed2go/GES Loan online at www.collegeloanapplication.com. • If they are approved, the student will receive a loan contract via email from TFC, the finance institution. • The student will need to sign the contract and return it with a $300 deposit to TFC. • Once TFC receives the student's signed contract and their deposit, TFC will notify ed2go/GES. • ed2go/GES will then process the student's registration. ed2go/GES will notify the partner when a loan student has registered. ed2go/GES will provide the student's personal information, so the partner can process the student's registration on their end. • ed2go/GES will contact the student directly with their course log-in information and ship the materials directly to the student. • After ed2go/GES has sent the partner the student's registration information, ed2go/GES will send a check to the partner for the difference between the cost and retail price of the course • The student will then pay off the balance of their loan directly to TFC over a period of 12 months at an interest rate of 9% while they are completing their program.

  19. Career Training Programs- Third Party Funding Opportunities • ed2go/GES partners offering the career training programs are encouraged to explore workforce, military, and vocational rehabilitation funding opportunities. Many partners have been very successful working with these entities to help fund students’ courses. ed2go/GES maintains a full-time Military Tuition Assistance, Military Veterans Benefits, and Workforce Training Office. Below is the contact information of the individuals in charge of these departments. Please contact them with any questions you have regarding these funding opportunities. • Jennifer Lamkin, Manager of Government Sales- jennifer.lamkin@cengage.com • Haywood Gordon, Military Education Manager- haywood.gordon@cengage.com

  20. Career Training Programs- WIA Funding Pre-employment andBasic Workplace Skills Professional Workplace Career Training Programs . Incumbent Worker Training, Re-training, and Certification Career Training Programs address workforce development needs on three levels.

  21. Career Training Programs- Student Roster & Tracking • A full student roster is available through the Student Services tab on the Partner Administrative website. By clicking on the “View Student Roster” link, a partner can access a full list of all their Active and Completed students. This student list also features links to the students’ contact information and their hours logged in their course(s). • Please email your account manager if you are in need of a student status report showing the percentage of a course a certain student has completed. This information is not available using the log transcript tool on the partner site.

  22. Career Training Programs- Certificates of Completion • Ed2go partners are responsible for awarding all completed students with a certificate of completion. Partners are encouraged to use the same type of certificate that is given to their classroom students. There is no certificate model that we require you to follow. • We ask that you include the partner’s name, student’s name, program title, and completion date on the certificate. • The ed2go/GES name does not need to be featured on the certificate. • A sample certificate can be accessed by clicking on the “Sample Certificate of Completion” link under the “Student Services” category on the partner website. • Partners are sent a completion notice via email notifying them of a completed student. This notification serves as an indicator to send the student their certificate of completion.

  23. Career Training Programs- Refund Policy • ed2go/GES has a strict no refund policy for our career training certificate programs. The only reason we give a refund is if we fail to perform. If it is our fault the student is not able to complete their program, we will give the student a full refund. • Students who simply want to withdraw from a course and not accept our policy to defer their training are not entitled to a refund. • This policy is in place because students are given all materials and complete access to their entire course upon registration, so partial refunds are not an option. • ed2go/GES will follow the partner's policy if a student has received a sub-par product from ed2go as determined by the partner. • Should a refund not be available, we will do our best to accommodate the student with a program transfer, which may be subject to other fees and material shipment and/or return. Transfers are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and can be requested by contacting your Account Manager.

  24. Career Training Programs- Course Extension Policy • The majority of ed2go/GES online career training courses are designed to be completed within 90 to 180 days. Students are generally given 6 months to complete their course. Since our programs are self-paced, it has been our policy to work with students until they are able to complete their program. When students need more time, we are happy to accommodate their needs. • Extensions are given to students free of charge for the majority of the career training programs. • Detailed information about extensions, along with their associated timeframe and cost are available on the course description page for each specific program at www.gatlineducation.com
