  2. Solar Power • The sun emits more energy than humans can consume or produce • Energy from the sun is absorbed and stored for use in solar panels • This decreases oil drilling and pollution • In result, cleaner environment & reduce global warming

  3. How Electricity Works • Light strikes compounds • Emits or accepts them • Transfers them to a conductor • This is known as the Photoelectric Effect

  4. Capturing Light • Silicone photovoltaic tiles absorb sunlight, store it and convert it into useable energy

  5. Benefits of Solar Energy • Powering your home/business with solar technology will decrease your utility bills and offer recognition/ incentives when filing taxes • Also provides power to rural areas • Is capable of fueling vehicles which decreases the addiction to foreign oil

  6. Conclusion • Converting to solar energy is environmental friendly • Will improve environmental health • Decrease the cost on oil • Improve the economy because less would be spent on maintaining oil facilities
