  1. MEDIA EVALUATION

  2. In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms or conventions of real media products?

  3. Including the issue date was something that was needed to make the magazine realistic. Bold and strong title too make it stand out and be eye catching. The image behind the text was something that needed to be strong in order to capture attention. The side different fonts throughout make it more realistic again. Bar code was something that was needed to make my magazine look realistic. Having the headline a different colour than the other texts made it eye-catching.

  4. The title is something which needed to be bold in order to capture the audiences attention for the article The two different colours of text are important to show variation in the questions and answers. The image behind was always something which needed to be strong and interesting. It also fits well with the colour scene of the article. The album review page is something which is common in music magazines to give more information and make the page more interesting. The large quotation gives the viewer the idea of what the theme of the article is about.

  5. I did this to keep with the colour scheme and title. The contents was important by making sure everything was in line to look really realistic. Also to make it look neat and presentable. I wanted too keep with the colour scheme and keep the change with the red and yellow. Also to make the contents very clear and also readable to my audience. Using the images was to brighten up the contents page and was also a reason to keep people coming back to the magazine which is a selling point. Using the website was used for marketing as is used in other music magazines.

  6. How does your media product represent different a particular group?

  7. As my target research said that my target audience are on the lowest form of income having competitions will help them. The language of the magazine is very informal because of the type of audience I have I don't think they will appreciate formal language. Misc en scene of my magazine is dark and stylish. The look of passion of the music on the models faces is the type of passion the audience should feel. The image behind and the type of clothes shown are similar to the ones in my social group.

  8. Language. As with my double page spread I again tried to keep the language very informal to make the audience of my magazine relaxed and make the artist I am interviewing very relatable in how they feel and what they are saying. This is something I think is important when trying to relate to people in the magazine. As with my contents page I tried to keep it very basic and straight to the point as my audience aren't interested in lots of text and different things. They want contents that are straight to the point, this is what I have tried to achieve.

  9. Institutions. Overall I would like too work with Bauer media as they produced Kerrang magazine which is currently the only magazine in the UK that is the closest to my style of magazine. And to see the success that they have had with Kerrang I would be very excited to see what they could do with ‘Diskcovered’. I would also like to work with the amount of money they have to help improve Diskcovered and too gain different ways of accessing such as an app or online. This is important as it gives me audience an easy way to help they to connect to my magazine. This is really important again to me because I would like it to be as easy as possible to connect to my magazine. Also to see the different ways of distributing to connect to all over the county. This is something they offer well and something I would love to have in my own magazine.

  10. What have you learnt whilst creating this magazine? Overall I have very much improved my Photoshop skills. The way in which I have created my magazine and I think i have made it very successfully and very realistic. I am very pleased with my outcome and i think that the skills I have learnt will help me to improve in my second year. I have learnt skills such as text alignment. Text editing. Photo editing and how to use different fonts well.
