  6. Approval of Minutes • Draft minutes from the April 11, 2019 meeting of the TAC were previously distributed to the TAC members. • Proposed Resolution: • That the minutes of the April 11, 2019 meeting of the Technical Advisory Council of the LF Deep Learning Foundation are hereby approved.

Updates • New General member: SyLabs.io • New membership category: Associate - Limited to academic and nonprofit institutions • If you work with universities and government research labs, please invite them to join LF DL as an Associate member (free memberships + some benefits) • Rebranding LF DL to LF AI - Board approved • Open Source Summit EU 2019 (Oct 28-30 in Lyon, France) • AI Track - please submit talks. Call for paper closes on July 1st

Background During the march 11th GB f2f meeting, the board recommended having a reference ML workflow / stack, and showcasing where current LF DL hosted projects fall The idea is to have a reference architecture and to allow us to identify gaps in our project portfolio so we can focus on project recruitment in areas that we need most, leading us to provide a reference implementation using LF DL hosted projects Volunteers needed to help working on the workflow

Aligning with externalinitiatives • There is a good degree of intersection between LF DL and other LF foundations/projects (or others) both at interest level and also membership • The GB is looking for the TAC to explore: • Collaboration with other LF foundations/projects such as CNCF and Edge, • Collaboration with external projects/initiatives (Example: AI4EU is a European project, a consortium composed of different European companies - Their goal is to create an AI platform for Europe and they chose Acumos (Thank you Orange!) • Better alignment, possible joint demos, etc. • Volunteers needed to look at this topic

Project Proposal Template and Lifecycle Document Refresh • These 2 documents were prepared early 2018, approved and put to practice in August 2018 • LF DL Project Lifecycle Document • LF DL Project Proposal Process • We’ve used them four times in onboarding new LF DL project and we believe there is room for improvements • The Linux Foundation has now a template that we can use as a reference that other LF umbrella foundations are using as a base: LF Project Progression Template • Volunteers needed to help refresh the documents and re-publish them
