High School at PACS in 2012 Reminders about Hope and Miller Scholarships • Requirements for Hope have not changed, but scholarship was significantly changed. • Miller which provides 100% tuition requires 3.7 GPA and 1200 SAT or 26 ACT (one sitting). • Considering AP and Honors in light of Miller

High School at PACS in 2012 Alliances for Virtual Education • Courses we do not offer • Scheduling issues for transfers • Other administrative approved purposes Georgia Virtual School (GAVS) http://www.gavirtualschool.org/ • All Computer Courses Advantage: Under certain circumstances courses may be taken without charge, flexibility in scheduling.

High School at PACS in 2012 Sevenstar Academy http://www.sevenstaracademy.org/ • Only approved summer school program • Mrs. Lehmann will handle all math courses through Sevenstar. • Mr. Eley and Miss Drake have also taught courses in the past. • We may add additional staff for Bible and History Advantage: Christian teachers/Biblical integration; flexibility in scheduling.

  14. High School at PACS in 2012 IPAD Program Update Mr. Kendall Eley If you have not turned in your form yet, please do so ASAP. Forms are available tonight. Currently the majority are choosing the lease approach.

  15. High School at PACS in 2012 IPAD Program Update Mr. Kendall Eley • Teachers will be receiving training on ways to implement technology into the classroom • Not all teachers will be using IPADS the same way.

  16. High School at PACS in 2012 IPAD Program Update Mr. Kendall Eley We are not making wholesale dramatic changes for the sake of change. The IPadis a tool to be used to enhance the learning of the students. We expect many small changes over a long period of time.

  18. High School at PACS in 2012 IPAD Program Update Mr. Kendall Eley • Policies are being formed to help teachers manage the devices in the classroom. • Internet filtering both onsite and offsite is being studied to find the best solutions.
