  1. Bears Bears have sharp teeth and big claws to help catch their prey. They are also bulky and have thick fur that is colored so they can blend in with their environment. They distribute their weight on their back legs that causes them to lumber when they walk. They have the ability to stand on their back legs because they have good balance. They are very fast and can run at 30 mph. Their sense of smell is better than a dog. • Natural selection is when a trait is increased or decreased in a population. • Gives bears big paws to be able to grip and trap its prey. • It gives them thick fur to be able survive in cold environments. • It gives them sharp teeth • It also gave them a great sense of smell to be able to hunt prey better. Bears feed on fish and other types of small mammals. They also eat many different plants such as leaves, plants, and mushrooms. Humans hunt bears for their fur and as hunting trophies. • The class of the Grizzly bear is mammalia. The order of the Grizzly bear is carnivora and it is in the ursidae family. The Polar Bear is considered a marine animal because it spends many months in the ocean. Its habitat is sea ice that covers the continental shelf. This is in the arctic areas of earth.
