Childhood • Samuel Langhorne Clemens was born on November 30, 1835. • He was born in Florida, Missouri when Halley’s comet was over head. • When he was 4 years old his family moved to Hannibal, Missouri. • Sam was the sixth of seven children. Sam was a dreamer and a prankster. • Sam had a best friend named Will Bowen.

  4. Why was he Famous ? Why was Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) famous? He was famous because he wrote so many good books. To prove he was so famous, there is an award named after him. His books are really great, they still sell just as fast 40 years later.

  10. Mark Twain’s Death • Mark Twain died of age. • He was 74 when he died. • He lived from 1835-1910. • Mark Twain is honored because he was a great writer. Now there is an award named after him.
