Vocabulary • Relation – Set of ordered pairs • Function – A relation in which each element of the domain is paired with exactly one element of the range. • Function Notation – f(x) • Domain – Set of Abscissas • Range – Set of Ordinates
What is the domain and range of the relation{(-3,0),(4,-2),(2,-6)} • Domain – {-3,2,4} • Range – {-6,-2,0} • Yes it is a function
What is the domain and range of the relation{(4,-2),(4,2),(9,-3),(-9,3)} • Domain – {-9,4,9} • Range – {-3,-2,2,3} • No it is not a function
