  1. moving communities toward mission Is it possible that we never see the full measure of what God wants to do in us and through us because of unconfessed sin and lack of faith to step out and believe? If so, what breakthroughs are you not experiencing?

  2. moving communities toward mission Comparisons between those who witnessed more of God’s power due to humility and greater level of faith in God: • Abraham versus Lot • Joseph versus his brothers • Moses versus the Israelites • Joshua and Caleb versus the other 10 spies • Elijah/Elisha versus other prophets of the day • David versus Saul • Etc.

  3. moving communities toward mission It is possible to generally follow God, and yet not experience his full power due to unconfessed sin and little faith. This, however, is I Cor. 3:15 kind of faith.

  4. moving communities toward mission If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames. 1 Corinthians 3:15

  5. moving communities toward mission Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. ... James 5:14-18

  6. moving communities toward mission ... Elijah was a man just like us. He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years. Again he prayed, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its crops. James 5:14-18

  7. moving communities toward mission Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves. I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:11-14

  8. moving communities toward mission When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him. Lord, have mercy on my son, he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.” O unbelieving and perverse generation, Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” ... Matthew 17:14-20

  9. moving communities toward mission ...Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed from that moment. Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn't we drive it out?” He replied, “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:14-20
