Acquiring & accessing e-books DkIT’s experience

This presentation by Claire Kenny at the LIR Annual Seminar in March 2011 discusses DkIT's approach to acquiring and accessing e-books from various platforms, including Safari, NetLibrary, Dawsonera, and Ebrary. The talk highlights the structure of DkIT's e-book collections, the challenges faced in implementation and access (such as IP recognition and off-campus access), and the importance of collaboration between acquisitions and systems librarians. It also examines the impact of marketing efforts on e-book usage and the effectiveness and cost considerations of different access models.
