  2. Background • Established in 2007 • ICT Apprenticeship, Cadetship and Graduate Programs • Address ongoing ICT skill shortages • ICT reported predominate skill shortage for past 3 years • 1% intake target • Expanded to other tiers of government

  3. Australian Government ICT Apprenticeship Program • Commenced in 2007 How does the Program work? • APS 1 or equivalent • Study 1 day per week • Work 4 days per week Certificate IV or Diploma qualification • ICT Specialisations • Recognition of Prior Learning • Study 1 day and work 4 days per week • 2 or 3 year Program

  4. Australian Government ICT Cadetship Program • Commenced in 2009 How does the Program work? • APS 2 or equivalent • Work minimum of 2 days • Study remainder of week (current degree) • Work full time during university breaks • 18 to 36 months duration • Academic Allowance

  5. Australian Government ICT Graduate Program • Established in 2012 How does the Program work? • APS 3-4 staff and work full time • Participate Graduate Development Program • Major Project • Diploma of Government with ICT focus • Completed undergraduate/postgraduate degree • Partnership with Australian Computer Society • Articulation

  7. 2015/2016 Recruitment • Recruitment for 2015 has concluded. • Still an opportunity to recruit a candidate for 2015. • Recruitment for the 2016 programs will commence in March 2015.
