  2. ETYMOLOGY • Tawheed is an ARABIC word. • Derived from AHAD • Meaning “unification”

  3. DEFINITION • The Divine Unity,unity in its most profound sense.Allah is One in His Essence and His Attibutes and His Acts.The whole universe and what it contains is one unified event whichin itself has no lasting reality.Allah is real,Al-Haqq

  4. QURANIC VERSES • “He is God,the one,God is He on whom all depend,He does not beget,nor is He begotten,and (there is) none like Him”Quran(112:1-4) • “Your Lord has decreed that you shall serve none but Him, and show kindness to your parents”Quran(17:23)

  5. “And to every people We sent a prophet to convey to them that they ought to serve Allah and avoid at-taghut”Quran(16:36) “Serve Allah and do not associate aught with Him”Quran(4:36)

  6. HADITHS • When the Prophet sent Muadh to Yemen, he said to him, “You are going to a nation from the people of the Scripture, so let first thing to which you will invite them, be the Tawheed of Allah”.

  7. Once Prophet(P.B.U.H) said “What is due to Allah from His creatures is to serve Him alone and never to associate any other being with Him. What is due them is not to punish any person who does not associate aught with Him”

  8. TYPES OF TAWHEED

  9. TAWHEED AL-RUBUBIYAH • Unity of Lordship.To percieve that there is only one Lord,The Master and Creatorof the Universe and that is Allah.

  10. TAWHEED AL-ULUHIYAH • Unity of worship.To realize that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah “WAHDAHU LA SHAREEKA’LAH”.

  11. TAWHEED AL-ASMA WA SIFAAT • Unity of names and attributes of Allah Ta’ala.To comprehend that:None can qualify or name Allah except as He have or qualified Him.

  12. EFFECT OF TAWHEED ON HUMAN LIFE • A believer of Tawheed can never be narrow-minded or shriveled in outlook. • This belief produces in man the highest degree of self-respect and self-esteem. • Along with self-respect this belief also generates in man a sense of modesty and humbleness. • This belief makes man virtuous and upright.

  13. The believer does not become despondent and heart-broken under any circumstances. This belief produces in man a very strong degree of determination,patient perseverance,and trust in Allah.

  14. SHIRK • The nullification of Tawheed is SHIRK, which means “DIVISON” in ARABIC.Shirk is one of the most severely punished sins

  15. QURANIC VERSE AND HADITH • Allah(swt) said : “Allah will not forgive associating aught with Him; but He will forgive the lesser sins to whomsoever He pleases”Quran(4:48) • Prophet (P.B.U.H) said : “Whoever dies while calling on associates to Allah shall enter Hell”.
