  2. Tenses WHAT IS TENSE ? Ans - Tense is a form of verb that indicates time. Tenses are divided in to Three Parts. Those are,

  3. Present Tense • Present Tense has four aspects .The aspects are,

  4. Structure (About the all aspects) 1. Present Simple Ex- We go to School every day. I am hungry. S + M.V. (root) +Obj Subject +Main Verb (root) +Object 2. Present Progressive Ex- I am eating. The boy is going to School. We are Playing. S+Be V.(am/is/are) + M.v.(-ing) form + Obj

  5. 3. Present Perfect Ex- He has gone to cuttack I have taken my lunch. S+ Have/Has+ M.v (P.P) form + Obj 4. Present Perfect Progressive S+ Have/Has + been+ M.V(-ing) + Obj Ex- It has been raining since morning. I have been living in the house since 2000.AD

  6. PAST TENSE • Past Tense has four aspects. The aspects are,

  7. Structure- (About the all aspects) 1. Past simple S + M.V (Past) + O Ex- He want to home. I saw a beautiful girl. 2. Past Progressive S+ was /were + M.v.(ing) + O Ex- He was playing in the field. We were reading the english book

  8. Past Perfect /Plu-Perfect S+ had + M.v (p.p) + O Ex- He refused to go until he had seen his mother. Before I had known him for week, he asked for money. Past perfect is used with the verbs in the sentence before the action that is performed earlier one action in the past time. Such as, The train had gone away before I reached the station so on. It is also named “Plu-Perfect” in english. FUTURE TIME According to grammarians there is no future tense in English, Only future time is there. There is no uses of “I shall” , “I will” & “We will”, ‘We shall” in future time. Ex- The girl is to dance tomorrow. I shall be ready in about half an hour.

Ans-He has left this place recently. ? 3. never/we/see/ghost/in life. Ans-We have never seen ghost in life ? 4. Yet/leave/for home/sirish.

(since, ten o’ clock) • 4. How long have you been playing cricket. • Ans- We have been playing cricket for two hours. • 5. How long has Manish been driving a car.

GROUP-E PAST TENSE Fill in blanks with the negative form of the verbs in the past simple. • I asked for help, but she did not help me. • Suresh saw me but he did not say anything. • The doctor gave me some medicines, but I did not take them. • I went to you office, but I did not find you there. • 5. I ate my breakfast, but I did not eat my lunch.
