Campus Hours of Operation Monday - Friday 7:00am – 5:00pm Classes begin at 8:00 am NOTE: Please coordinate with your instructor if you plan to arrive earlier than 7:00 A.M. or remain on site later than 5:00 P.M. Faculty must be present when students are in the classroom before 7:00 A.M. or after 5:00 P.M.

  3. Student Parking • Park in designated “Student Parking” lots only • Do not park in “Visitor” or “2-Hour” lots IMPORTANT NOTE: Recommend removing or hiding valuables such as IPODs, CDs, GPS devices, etc. so they are not visible in your vehicle

Emergency/FireEvacuation Plan • Instructor (or student) should grab “RED” evacuation folder – it contains the class roster and evacuation procedures • Classmates should help those who may need additional assistance • Take the nearest “safe” exit from your classroom • Once you’ve exited the building, gather at the appropriate “Assembly Point” for your classroom (see next slides) • At the “Assembly Point”, the instructor (or student) will take a head count to ensure all students are accounted for and provide the status to the Dean or designated representative NOTE: If emergency evacuation occurs near lunchtime or end of the day, “DO NOT” release anyone until you have full accountability of your class

  7. Emergency/FireEvacuation - POD 4 “Assembly Point” POD 4 Exit the building and proceed to the “Assembly Point” in the Pod 4 faculty/staff parking lot indicated by the RED arrows.

Tornado Shelter Procedures • Instructor (or student) should grab “RED” evac folder – it contains the class roster and evacuation procedures • Classmates should help those who may need additional assistance • Exit classroom and proceed to the 1st floor, into the hallway behind the Fitness Center (see next slide) • Once everyone is in the hallway behind the fitness center, the instructor (or student) will take a head count to ensure all students are accounted for and provide the status to the Dean or designated representative NOTE: DO NOTrelease anyone until the “all clear” is given

Tornado Shelter Procedures (From Pod 4) Shelter Area - Hallway Fitness Center Cafeteria 105 120 106 119 Then thru these doors Thru these doors past the Cafeteria Exit Pod 4 lower level and go left down the hallway through the double steel doors – past the Cafeteria – turn right and go through double steel doors into hallway behind Fitness Center.

Campus Security(During Force Protection Condition Bravo) • Students should have CAC cards with them at all times; random ID checks may be conducted • Military Personnel should wear business or business casual attire when not on a military installation. • Students should be extra vigilant of their surroundings in the building and parking lot; report any suspicious activity, vehicles or packages to your instructors • Students should be aware of all available exits in case evacuation of the facility is necessary and the primary exit is blocked

Active Shooter • Dial #38212 on classroom phone to send alert throughout the campus and prevent further access in through Pod entrance doors • Get out if you can – use any exit to get out of the building --- or --- • Hide- Lock the door, turn the light off, get out of sight and remain silent • Call 911 when/if it is safe to do so (9-911 if using classroom phone) • Take Action if you must

  13. Medical Emergencies • Use classroom phone and dial 9-911 • Be prepared to relay the following information: • What classroom/area you’re in • Who is in need of assistance • What happened • Stay on the phone

  14. AED Unit & First Aid Kits(Pod 4) • Located on the 1stFloor on the wall above the microwaves in the student lounge area • First aid kit also located on 2nd floor in PMT 401 kitchen area • Please let your instructor know if you use up any supplies in the first aid kit 1st Floor 2nd Floor

DAU-Midwest Region Dean’s Message Regarding Flu Viruses Precautionary steps include the following: • Cover your nose & mouth when coughing or sneezing • Use tissues to contain respiratory secretions and after use, dispose of them in the nearest waste receptacle • Wash your hands with soap & water after having contact with respiratory secretions and contaminated materials • If you become ill with flu-like symptoms, please contact your instructor and seek professional medical attention from a local healthcare provider. (Information is available from our staff) • Hand sanitizer is available in the classrooms

Cafeteria(Located on 1st Floor below main lobby) Cafeteria Hours: • 0730 – 0930 Breakfast • 0930 – 1100 Snacks & Drinks available • 1100 – 1300 Lunch • 1300 – 1330 Snacks & Drinks available • 1330 – Cafeteria Closes • Vending Machines • Additional Microwaves • ATM – around the corner from the seating area

  22. Computer/IT Issues • Students are assigned a classroom username/password. This will be used to access the classroom and breakout room computers as well as the (3) computers near the student lounge (room 206). • BE EXTRA CAREFUL WHEN LOGGING ON! Three (total) incorrect logins (by 1 or 3 different students) locks-out all computers in the classroom • End of Each Day - LOG OFF & RETURN TO WINDOWS SCREEN BEFORE REMOVING CAC – DO NOT TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER! Computers receive important updates in the evening and automatically power down at 11:00pm • Save only unclassified, course related material on the network “L” drive – not on the local drives • Direct IT related questions to your instructor or training tech

BYOD Procedures • DAUGuest network for resident students • Resident students are automatically granted access via Single-Sign-On (SSO) • DAUGuest provides wireless access to web based resources • Atlas, Blackboard, DAU Homepage, iCatalog, ACC, etc… • No access to shared drives • Some .mil sites may be restricted to only access from other .mil networks

  24. BYOD Procedures (cont.) STEP 1: From your Device, Browse available Wireless Networks and select DAUGuestand then connect STEP 2: Enter this PassPhrase to connect: stuD3nt@dau

  25. BYOD Procedures (cont.) DAUGuest - Redirected to Captive Portal for Authentication Select a Method of Authentication: All registered DAU Students should already have a DAU-ID and therefore have Student SSO credentials.

  26. BYOD Procedures (cont.) You will be redirected to the standard DAU SSO System. Read and Accept the standard DoD warning banner. Login with your SSO credentials (either CAC or username and password.)

  27. BYOD Procedures (cont.) Once successfully authenticated, you will be re-directed to a confirmation page with a short time-out then you will be passed along to your browsers default home page.

Attire DAU dress policy is business casual which means dress slacks, collared shirts, dress shoes/loafers and the equivalent attire for women • Shorts, flip flops, strapless, excessively short or sheer garments, exposed mid-drift, jeans, athletic wear of any kind, and hats are examples of inappropriate attire in the classroom • Military wear optional Coat racks are available in each classroom

  29. Copier/Fax/Scan • For “Official Business ONLY” • Please see your instructor – they will bring you to our office for assistance • Fax # is (937) 781-1090; please coordinate with our office staff prior to receiving a fax

  30. Standards of Conduct Be Considerate - Respect your classmates • Be on time for class • Return promptly from breaks & lunch • Stay until class ends . Be Professional at all times • Be attentive and participate • Be professional and courteous when interacting with classmates, faculty, and guests • Be respectful of the facilities – clean up after yourself

  31. Standards of Conduct Academic Integrity • Don’t misrepresent your work • Don’t help others violate academic integrity . Equal Opportunity & Sexual Harassment • Harassment of any type will not be tolerated • Help foster and support a professional classroom environment • Be mindful of comments that others may find offensive

Other Items • Food & Drinks • Okay in classroom • Drinks should have lids • Student Messages • Messages may be left for students by calling (937) 781-1025 and pressing Option #1 • If it’s an “Emergency”, messages will be brought directly to the classroom. • Smoking Area • 75 Ft from any entrance • On the cafeteria patio • Room is available for Nursing Mothers – please see your instructor or Student Services

Course Completion Certificate and Transcript • Your course completion “Certificate” will usually be available in 1 – 2 business days after graduation • Log into your student ATLAS account at https://learn.dau.mil • Class should appear under “Completed Courses” – click on the certificate symbol to the right of the course • If not there within 5 business days, contact the DAU Help Desk at dauhelp@dau.mil • Course completions along with the applicable CEUs/CLPs will show on your DAU Transcript • Go to the DAU Homepage at http://www.dau.mil • Click on “Student Information” • Then click on “Request a Transcript” • Log in and then click on “View Unofficial Transcript” • You can download a .pdf file and/or print a copy

Course Survey & Departure • Complete the Course Survey by clicking on the desktop icon on your computer or ask your instructor • Delete all files you placed on your computer • Don’t forget to take your CAC card • Clean up your area – throw away any trash • Please travel safely! Before leaving on the last day….

Locator Cards Review and update your Locator Card for correctness • Spelling of your Name (this will be printed on your graduation certificate) • Service and Rank/Grade • Work Phone Number and Address • Supervisor Name, Phone #, and email • TDY Lodging Location (Hotel Name & Phone #) • Any other information you want us to have in case of an emergency such as a family/friend contact or your cell phone # • Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C.552a) applies. ** NOTE: Refusal to provide accurate information could result in not receiving credit for your course and no certificate
