  2. College and Success Indicators College readiness can be defined as the level of preparation a student needs in order to enroll and succeed: • without remediation • a credit-bearing general education course • at a postsecondary institution

  3. College and Success Indicators ACT defines “college readiness” as students having a 75% chance of earning a grade of C or better: • During the first-year of college • While enrolled in non-remedial credit bearing college courses

  4. College and Success Indicators CCR accountability benchmarks for ACT College Readiness benchmark scores on any of four content areas of the ACT for success credit: English Composition [English] 18 Social Sciences [Reading] 22 College Algebra [Mathematics] 22 Biology [Science] 23

College and Success Indicators CCR is cohort based, just like graduation and is one year lagged Uses the Shared Accountability method • Outcomes are apportioned to every high school attended • Students have 4 years to accumulate participation and success credits • The student’s best effort is counted Schools can earn a total of 15 points How is CCR used in A-F School Grading? Success benchmarks are published in the ADC Manual and in the Technical Guide.

College and Success Indicators • Data highlights C(11): • 67.3% of HS Graduates enroll within 16 months of graduation in a IHE. • 7.3% enrolled in an IHE other than a in-state public institution. • Data highlights C(12): • 44.8% of HS Graduates earned one year worth of college credit within 24 • months of enrolling in a in-state public institution • Asian American were the most likely to accumulate one year worth of college • credit within 24 month of enrollment among all ethnic groups.
