  1. TIPS TO BOOST SALES IN A CLOTHING STORE

  2. • Running a clothes store puts you in an advantageous position when compared to many other businesses: People need clothes, so they need stores that sell clothes. Unfortunately, they don’t need your store, but your job is to make people feel that your store offers the best deals, the best customer service and the best clothes. Increasing sales in an apparel store requires you to step back and essentially look at the store from an aerial view to see how you can run the operation even better.

  3. Check the Design of the Store • Review the design of your store. Make sure everything is easy to find and logically goes together. When people shop for clothes, they must be able to easily navigate through the store to find what they need. Each section of your store should be clearly labeled. For example, if kids' tops greet customers alongside the top right wall, adult men’s pants shouldn't hang right next to them.

  4. Use POS software • POS software for clothing helps you to manage all your inventory and sales and it also helps you to get business transaction reports to your business. POS software can also helps you in reordering the stock when they run out and helps you to identify the highest selling items in the store.

  5. Dress Your Mannequins • Include mannequins in the store. Dress them in the clothes you want people to focus on. For example, if you want to push a new designer top, place a mannequin in the section that features the top, and dress it in the top. Make sure the top is free of wrinkles and fits well.

  6. Offer Sales on Certain Clothes • Offer sales on certain clothes. Sales not only drive people to your store but convert lookers into buyers. You don’t have to follow the traditional 10 percent off type of sales; anything that appears like a deal to customers will work. For example, right before school begins, you could offer shoppers the opportunity to buy three pairs of jeans and receive 25 percent off the third pair.

  7. Market Your Store • Market your store. People need to know your store exists. Take out ads, pass out fliers to anyone who enters your store, create business cards and pass them out and tell friends and family about your store. When advertising your store, make the customers want to come to you. Entice them with words.

  8. Implement Customer Service Policies • Implement policies that focus on customer service. Your company must be essentially devoted to the customer. Make the customer your number one priority. Make sure all employees focus on the customer and are friendly when trying to make a sale. Employees should go out of their way to ensure the customer wants to return to the store.
