Mitigation Phase • Reduce or eliminate the hazard • i.e., Safety Program • Before a disaster: • Identify potential hazards / emergencies • Implement measures (install BDS, move equipment out of flood-prone areas, etc.) • Post disaster: • Produce an “after actions” report to determine future mitigation actions

  5. Mitigation Phase • Mitigation through PEMS • Development of PEMS • Analysis of records in PEMS • Incident trend analysis at installation, district and HQ • Developments of new PEMS requirements and functionality
