  4. High Five Activity • You will see two envelopes at each table. You will be Partner A if you have the envelope in front of you. If you do not have an envelope you will be Partner B. • When the music starts move about the room to find a partner (A/B) - high five your partner. • Begin by Partner A selecting a question from the envelope and reading it to Partner B. • Partner B answers. • Next, switch roles and keep repeating the process until told to stop. • High five your partner and return to your seat.   6. Timeline for 2013 Annual Spring Testing, Review, and Documentation

Reminder Completion of WMLS: Comparison of CALP Level and RPI submitted to Bilingual Dept. • 4th – 5th – completed and submitted by end of February • 3rd – completed and submitted by end of March • 2nd – 1st - completed and submitted by end of April • K – PK – completed and submitted to Bilingual Dept. no later than May 24.

  9. 3rd Grading Period Monitoring of Bilingual Students • Interventions must be identified and implemented (per content area) at the end of the 3rd grading period. The LPAC coordinator provides the Crystal Report for monitoring 1st and 2nd year exited students and LEP students failing or at risk of failing. • Interventions must be documented on the Instructional Intervention form. • Linguistic accommodations must be taking place during classroom instruction on a regular basis if the accommodation will be used on STAAR or STAAR L.

Things to remember about administering the WMLS… • The administrator of the test must be trained. • Establish Basal and Ceiling before scoring test. • Directions must be in English / no translations. • Students must not be taught the test items at anytime. • The test is confidential and must be secured at all times. • The administrator of the test may not reply with a yes or no or any other gesture to indicate to the student that his/her response is correct or incorrect or give the student a second chance to respond correctly.

Bilingual PK/K Summer Program Employment Applications Student Enrollment Applications All employee applications will be submitted to Ms. Dana Reyes, Director of Charters, Magnets, and Summer School. Do not send applications to Bilingual Dept.Check with your campus principal on or about April 15 (tentative.) Make sure that all deadlines are met.

Don’t forget… Stipend Deadline In order to receive the remaining stipend in May, 4.5 hours must be completed along with the appropriate documentation for any session not conducted by the Bilingual/ESL Department and sent to the Bilingual/ESL office not later thanApril 12, 2013. • Spelling Bee • May 18, 2012 @ Hawthorne Academy • Participant must be at site by 8:30 am
