Case Study : Coventry City Council / Salary Benchmarking Challenge CCC needed to recruit a Principal Social Worker. Prior to advertising, establishing the correct level of salary to make it competitive not profligate, is critical to maximise the advert response. As a recently created job role as recommended by the 2011 Munro report, there was a lack of easily accessible salary information. To determine the market rate, it was important to analyse national and regional salary levels . Approach A small team of experienced researchers scoured the deep web, to source current and pre-existing job specs to create a credible data pool. Having market mapped the sector for competing local and national organisations, we were able to effectively target accurate data sets. Impact We produced a CCC branded slide deck to support the HR team make their case internally on salary levels. By using our graphical analysis and Insight, CCC were able to pinpoint what other key players in the sector were paying and how they could position their offering competitively.
