  2. Contents • 2006 Fill Pattern (bxing masking) • Determination from CDEV • Confirmation with BBC coincidence • SpinDB • 2006 Relative Luminosity • Release • BBC-ZDC comparison • Preparation for 2008 • Issues to be resolved before run 2008 Tai Sakuma

  3. 2006 Fill Pattern (bxing mask) • Spin sorted yields and relative luminosity should use the same set of the bxings. • Choose bxings which are not in the abort gaps, not kicked, or lost. Tai Sakuma

  4. Determination of Fill Pattern (bxing mask) • Determination of the fill patterns (bxing mask) from CDEV • <measuredFillPatternM> • Logical AND is taken to determine one fill pattern (mask) for a RHIC fill. • Confirmation with BBC coincidence • Minimum conincidence rates for each bxing. Tai Sakuma

  7. Summary on Fill Pattern (bxing mask) • 159 fills (2508 runs) • The number of the fills for which the fill patterns (bxing mask) are determined from CDEV. These patterns (masks) will be entered into SpinDB. • 127 fills (2023 runs) • The number of the fills for which the fill patterns (bxing mask) are confirmed with the BBC coincidence counts. • 32 fills • No scaler files for those fills. Tai Sakuma

  8. 2006 Relative Luminosity • Preliminary Release • http://deltag5.lns.mit.edu/~sakuma/protected/star/scaler/2006/prelim_release.shtml • Used the fill patterns (bxing masks) that I determined • 566 runs for 80 fills • Final Release • There will be the final release with the systematic uncertainty. Tai Sakuma

  9. BBC-ZDC Comparison The ratio of the ZDC and BBC coincidence counts jumps Tai Sakuma

  10. BBC-ZDC Comparison The ratio of the ZDC and BBC coincidence counts for bxings. • Leading bunch effect • The ratio is large for the first ten bunches for the yellow and blue beam • Ripple effect • The ratio oscillates with low frequency • Saw tooth effect • The ratio oscillates with high frequency Tai Sakuma

  11. Issues to be resolved for 2008 • Timestamp • For 2006, the clock used for the timestamp on the scaler files was not synchronized with the STAR run time. • BBC Coincidence Counts • For Board 6 for each run, the 1st file behaved differently from the 2nd and after the 2nd files. • Board 7 and 8 don’t have good a vertex distribution. • Board 5, 6 timebin and board 6 bit 16 for 2nd and after the 2nd files are consistent with board 11, 12 bit16. Board 5, 7, 8 bit 16 and board 6 bit 16 for 1st file are consistent with one another but not with board 11, 12. • BBC - ZDC comparison • Coincidence counts is not flat over the time • Coincidence counts is not flat over the bxings. Tai Sakuma
