Our Program andour Model • Targeted Early Intervention Family Support program working with voluntary families who have a child under the age of 9 years and have at least one identified vulnerability. • If these issues remain unresolved the children within these families are at risk of entering the statutory child protection and out of home care systems. • Wesley Mission, as Lead Agency,provide direct service to families and also coordinate the implementation of the program across the region • Partnership Model of service delivery

  5. “The work that we are doing now is really ‘more of the same’. It’s the same type of casework that we’ve always done just with higher risk families. I had been building my skills already in this regard. I felt well placed to handle the changes...I feel I have retained the strengths I had around engagement but have made my processes and assessments more robust”.

  6. “I am finding the eligibility assessment a lot harder than before because before these are not cases that we would take. Now there is a finer line between FACS child protection and what is not. Definitions around’ immediate risk’ and the role of BF are up for discussion. When the new SPG’s came in I felt not quite ready for the level and depth of casework required. I am still referring out...I am seeking far more information...We are facing new dilemmas in eligibility and casework now...”
