  2. One Entry for ALL! • An INCIDENT is an event. It may involve: • Multiple OFFENDERS • Multiple VICTIMS • Either may be from one or more buildings, or… • Be people not associated with the school district • Multiple BEHAVIORS (i.e. mis-behaviors…) • Multiple disciplinary ACTIONS • Other ATTRIBUTES A single entry will appear in the record of ALL students involved!

  3. PowerSchool Start Page….. • Special Functions • Incident Management

  4. Incident List On right side of page select Create New Incident

  5. Incident Detail page Yellow fields: required for initial entry. Some choices may result in additional requirements.

  6. Incident Type Major Infractions and Minor Infractions Both will be included in the ISEE monthly uploads Your choice controls who else can see the incident record

  7. Time Frame • During School Hours^ • Out-Side School Hours ^ • Other^ Each choice has its own sub-codes. You MUST choose a sub-code. You may also add a comment with more detail.

  8. Location • School Property^ • Off School Property^ • Other^ “Off School Property” = locations that still relate to a school setting, e.g. another campus. “Other” locations do not relate to school.

  9. Location Sub-code • Choose Sub-code (required) You may add more detail in the Location Description, e.g. which classroom, hallway or gym.

  10. Add Participants (+) • Reporters • Victims • Offenders (required) • Witnesses

  11. Search for Participant • Search Students, Staff or “Others” (not usuallyassociated with PowerSchool) • Search by: • Last Name • Grade Level (for students) • Active only, or include inactives • Context – your school, or District Office for other schools • Click name of person and “Add” to the incident, or“Create Other” for someone not in PowerSchool

  12. Define Role(s) (+) John Doe Next select Role(s)… …and Add Participant Attributes

  13. Lather, Rinse, Repeat… For ALL people involved in the event: • Add with + • Search for participant • Or Create Other • Choose all Roles • and

  14. Incident Elements • Add [mis]Behavior(s) • Add Object (if applicable) • Add Attribute (if applicable) • Add Action(s) (consequences)

  15. How Many Times? • Behaviors: reusable; add once to incident, associate with multiple Participants • Objects: reusable; add once to incident, associate with multiple Participants • Attributes: associate once with whole incident • Actions:single-use; must add separately for each Participant & Behavior

  16. Add Behaviors (+) Check definitions carefully! Some terms are quite similar to each other

  17. Select Behavior Sub-codeif available

  18. Primary Behavior • Mark ONE BEHAVIOR as Primary • Add Behavior

  19. Select Code and appropriate Sub Code 2. Add Objects (+) (if applicable) REQUIRED for Weapons incidents

Add Attribute Codes (+) (if applicable) • Violent Incident without Physical Injury^ • Violent Incident with Physical Injury^ • Educational Services After Removal^ • Justice System Involved^ • Note: DO NOT use if SRO involved solely at the school level WITHOUT filing charges. DO use if action is “Probation/Truancy Officer Contact” or “Law Enforcement Referral” Applied to Incident itself – do not need to drag to offender or behavior

  21. 4. Add Actions (+) IEP student involved? Actions involving removal from school or changes to education environment MUST be cleared with Director of Student Services

Associate Behaviors toParticipants,Actions to Behaviors,Objectsto Participants Click on Behavior and drag onto Participant Click on Action and drag onto Behavior *Must Submit incident after associating primary action to primary offender. Then return and associate other actions to participants. Click on Objectand drag onto Participant

  27. ISEE State Reports • Select System Reports • Go to the State Tab • Under Header – ISEE Data Collection Run reports for Current School Only
