  3. Mission of the Municipal Training Center To facilitate process of development of highly professional, accountable and efficient local administration through establishment of sustainable training system at local level

  4. The main priorities of the Municipal Training Center 1. Carry out different assessments and researches at local level to monitor the changes and effectively respond to the needs of the local self governments. 2. Develop viable and effective network of information exchange among central and local institutions as well as donor organizations and other stakeholders. 3. Facilitate the development of the national training system at local level and to develop quality assurance mechanism.

Facilitate implementation of training initiatives supported by the donor organizations (information, logistical support, facilities). 5. Strengthen local training providers through provision of technical support and advice (information, methodological assistance, etc) 6. Strengthen capacities of local self-governments by providing training and consultancy services to local self-government officials

Municipal Training Center…some of the main activities Policy: • Preparation of the National Training Strategy for Local Governments in Serbia (in partnership with UNDP, CoU, Government of the Republic of Serbia, other partners) Research activities: • Capacity assessment of local training providers in Serbia • Training Needs Assessment: municipal officials • Comprehensive Training Needs Assessment

Training and coaching (the most important) • Training for elected municipal officials (mayors and members of municipal assemblies) • Training for newly established positions within municipal administration - Training for municipal managers, - Training for municipal ombudsman, - Training for municipal multiethnic councils • Localizing PRSP and MDGs- training and advisory programme • Strategic planning for local sustainable development
