  4. The Roman name for the goddess • Vesta

  5. Symbols associated with the goddess Hestia's symbol is the hearth. It is similar to a fireplace and is made of stone or brick. The hearth is used for cooking and heating.

  6. Goddess of what domain? • Hestia is the goddess of fire!

  7. Relatives • Parents: Kronos, Rhea • Brothers: Zeus, Hades, Poseidon • Sisters: Demeter, Hera

  8. Weapons • A flowered branch and a kettle

  9. Special powers • Hestia doesn’t have any special powers! She is just the goddess of fire, even though she can’t bend fire!

  10. Special personality traits • Quiet, peaceful, gentle and protective - like a dove!

  11. Myth of Hestia There are not many legends about Hestia, but there is one where she was admired by Poseidon and Apollo. She did not want to marry either of them, so she vowed to Zeus that she would never marry!

  12. She was one of the children eaten by Kronos. She never married. She didn't have any children but looked after orphans and missing children. Hestia could not be forced to love anyone, not even by the goddess of love. In Rome, Vesta’s job was to keep the Sacred fire always lit. Facts About Hestia
