  5. WHERE ARE WE & HOW DID WE GET HERE?Pre-Building Committee list (2010) Mission: Helping each other follow Jesus’ way. (John 14:6) Vision: That through Him all might be saved. (John 3:17)

Began meeting June 2011 to work on facilities issues with architect • Developed a Ministry Plan • Performed Property Evaluation including neighboring property • Worked with C2AE on building layout • Proposed site plans C2AE Mission: Helping each other follow Jesus’ way. (John 14:6) Vision: That through Him all might be saved. (John 3:17)

  7. The building project changed • Jean Brand said “This is what I can do. Now it’s up to you. See what you can do” • Jean gave us a house to be used for the parsonage. • This allowed us to add ministry space, re-locate Church administration, free space in Wesley Hall and changed our plans substantially.

Expect a Miracle on May 18 History of Sparta United Methodist Church Building and Facility Campaign Phase l- Major gift of Skyview property and improvements Result: Fully paid and completed, thanks to many blessed hands. Phase ll- 46 E. Division renovations to move offices of Pastor, Youth Director and Business Manager. Result: Fully paid and completed, again with significant help from laity. Phase lll- Sanctuary painting and repair Result: Paid for by $19,000 of building funds and $14,000 borrowing from Line of Credit Phase lV- $214,000 in 2014. Mission: Helping each other follow Jesus’ way. (John 14:6) Vision: That through Him all might be saved. (John 3:17)

Expect a Miracle on May 18 • We hope to raise $214,000 in one day, Miracle Sunday, May 18 to renovate: • Wesley Hall • Widen the pathway between the Parlor and Wesley Hall • Install new larger Women’s and Men’s bathrooms on the main floor • Small kitchenette • Painting, windows and window treatments. • Sanctuary • Renovate the Choir/Altar space make more accessible and flexible. • Roof and gutter repair • Sealing stain glass windows • 46 E Division St. • Handicap Accessibility • Garage work to accommodate van • Cover walkway from Church • Move office telephone system • Other Church repairs and improvements • Repair the sewer line between the Church and street • Improve issue with different floor heights on lower level • Resurface and improve parking • New siding on Skyview property • Payoff Line of Credit Mission: Helping each other follow Jesus’ way.
