General Information • Beginning with summer 2011, Clemson University will have seven academic terms during summer school • Despite adding these new academic terms, the student system will still only have two computer terms during the summer: 05 (Summer Session I) and 06 (Summer Session II). • For the purpose of student credit load, the first half of summer includes Long Summer, Summer I, Minimester A, and Minimester B. The second half of summer includes Long Summer, Summer II, Minimester C, and Minimester D. • Students may register for/request a maximum of 10 credit hours in Long Summer, Summer I, Minimester A and Minimester B combined. • Students may register for/request a maximum of 10 credit hours in Long Summer, Summer II, Minimester C and Minimester D combined. • Long Summer credit hours are divided evenly between the first half and the second half of the summer. • Students can register for/request a maximum of 4 credits in Minimester A, B, C, and D.

General InformationLong Summer • Computer term for CRSM Mainframe: 11SL (2011 Summer – Long) • Class start times are 8:00 am, 9:45 am, 11:30 am, 1:15 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:45 pm, 6:30 pm. • Classes do not meet on Friday • 4-credit lecture courses meet daily for 75 minutes Monday – Thursday. • 3-credit lecture courses meet daily for 75 minutes Tuesday – Thursday. • Section range 650 – 699 unless one of the following applies: • 400 – 499: Off-campus, Internet • 500 – 549: Contract • 600 – 614: Study Abroad • 630 – 639: Embedded Study Abroad • Go to the following link to view where these standards are available on the Registrar’s web site: http://www.registrar.clemson.edu/html/coordPortal.htm

General InformationMinimester A • Computer term for CRSM Mainframe: 11SA (2011 Summer – Minimester A) • Class start times are 8:00 am, 11:30 am, 3:00 pm, 6:30 pm • Courses of more than 3 credit hours are not permitted in Minimester A. • 3-credit lecture courses meet daily for 2 hours and 45 minutes Monday – Friday with an occasional Saturday class. • Section range 700 – 749 unless one of the following applies: • 400 – 499: Off-campus, Internet • 500 – 549: Contract • 600 – 614: Study Abroad • 630 – 639: Embedded Study Abroad

General InformationMinimester C • Computer term for CRSM Mainframe: 11SC (2011 Summer – Minimester C) • Class start times are 8:00 am, 11:30 am, 3:00 pm, 6:30 pm • Courses of more than 3 credit hours are not permitted n Minimester C. • 3-credit lecture courses meet daily for 2 hours and 45 minutes Monday – Friday with an occasional Saturday class. • Section range 800 – 849 unless one of the following applies: • 400 – 499: Off-campus, Internet • 500 – 549: Contract • 600 – 614: Study Abroad • 630 – 639: Embedded Study Abroad

General InformationMinimester D • Computer term for CRSM Mainframe: 11SD (2011 Summer – Minimester D) • Class start times are 8:00 am, 11:30 am, 3:00 pm, 6:30 pm • Courses of more than 3 credit hours are not permitted n Minimester D. • 3-credit lecture courses meet daily for 2 hours and 45 minutes Monday – Friday with an occasional Saturday class. • Section range 850 – 899 unless one of the following applies: • 400 – 499: Off-campus, Internet • 500 – 549: Contract • 600 – 614: Study Abroad • 630 – 639: Embedded Study Abroad

  8. 2. CRSM Mainframe Adding a section Valid section number required Type academic term. 11SA, 11SB, and 11SL are contained within 1105. Summer I is still identified by 1105. Correct academic term is required when adding/deleting/restoring a section.

CRSM MainframeLook up sections The correct computer term must be entered to view courses (1105 or 1106). 1105 is used for Long Summer (until Summer I ends), Summer I, Minimester A, and Minimester B. 1106 is used for Long Summer (once Summer II begins), Summer II, Minimester C, and Minimester D. All these functions require the correct computer term.

CRSM MainframeViewing Sections Term designation field – this is a one-character field with no column heading CRSM will be easier to reference if you become familiar with valid section ranges Term designation key: 1 = Summer I 2 = Summer II A = Minimester A B = Minimester B C = Minimester C D = Minimester D L = Long Summer F = Fall S = Spring I = Irregular term - only valid in fall/spring

  13. 3. CRSMwebViewing sections Becoming familiar with section ranges will be vital when using CRSMweb. NOTE: If the course is taught off-campus, the term cannot be determined from this screen

  14. 3. CRSMweb Academic term designation 1. Select Update Section Fields then click Submit 2. Enrollment period field displays the academic term. This is a view-only field. It must be referenced to determine the academic term for an off-campus, internet, contract, study abroad, or embedded study abroad course.
