Other Benefits to adopting the XDS Infrastructure • Scalability • XDS infrastructure is highly scalable when adding new hospitals • New patient IDs are added to the PIX mgr • leverages a common XDS registry/repository As the Hainan ASP project expands with more sites, the complexity will not • Extensibility • IHE has defined many common templates for patient health data, including Lab, Referrals, Discharge Summaries, etc • IHE supports many generic health data formats as well, including CDA, text wrapped CDA HainNan ASP project can leverage the XSD infrastructure to add new services providing a more comprehensive view the Patient’s Health Record
