Marshall OC Mission and How We Add Value • MAAOC has a tradition of nearly 50 years of alumni service OC • We keep Marshall Trojans connected to • Current and prospective clients, referral partners, strategic allies • Potential employers • Top talent and new employees • MAAOC is about active board involvement and event ownership for board members (12 to 15 very active; with another 10 or so day-of of floating assets) • We open doors in OC beyond Marshall via ties to other top schools (OC-MBA) and groups (Shea Riding Ctr.) • Culture of mentorship, succession planning within MAAOC, Trojans helping Trojans – and making it fun to be a part of Marshall in the OC! • 4 to 6 events per month

Marshall OC Programming Highlights • Events include quarterly (or mire often) Marshall Business Breakfasts, quarterly Affinity Group events, monthly mixers and weekly lunches, and special events • Event promotion (begins 6 to 7 weeks pre-event): • Marshall email blasts (HTML flier with RSVP link) to 7500 to 10,000 alums • Posting and discussion on Linked In and Facebook • Mention at other MAAOC events • Emphasis on content with A-list speakers at Breakfast and Affinity Group events, and on grassroots networking at mixers and weekly lunches • Breakfasts, AG’s, mixers draw 75 - 100; lunches 20 - 30 • Affinity Groups: Comm. Real Estate, Health Sciences, Women in Business and IT • Invaluable for networking & exchange of best practices ideas • Mainly for USC alums but includes guests who are top of their fields • Active participation of the entire Marshall demographic and at all career stages!

  4. Speakers: industry leaders sharing timely, actionable content – entertaining/passionate Speakers suggested and vetted at MAAOC board meeting. Event Chair contacts speaker to gauge interest, discuss content and AV needs, and secure a date. Venue chosen for upscale tone, good food/service. Price point around $30.00 May be corporate outreach at the Speakers place of business, often with a tour Registration table: Marshall table skirt, pre-printed nametags, staffed 1 & 2 Board members Day-of: 20 - 30 minutes of networking; Event Chair welcomes, mentions key upcoming MAAOC events, and re-caps Speaker's credentials/accomplishments. Speaker talks 25 to 30, then interactive, casual Q & A. Event wraps in 2 hours. Within a week we send email containing link to survey for event feedback Billing and RSVPs through Eventbrite Billed a few % per transaction, great reporting; credit card RSVP convenience Walk-ins easily accommodated Business cards collected to add to event promotional database Event Specifics – Affinity Group Example
