  2. Phil.3:20,21– “20 For our citizenship is in heaven; whence also we wait for a Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 who shall fashion anew the body of our humiliation, that it may be conformed to the body of his glory, according to the working whereby he is able even to subject all things unto himself.”

  4. Gen.47:9– “And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty years: few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.”

  5. (2 Cor 5:6-8 KJV) Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: {7} (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) {8} We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

  6. Understand We Are Sojourners (1 Pet 2:11 KJV) Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; A temporary resident 1 Pet.1:17; 2:11 Bible examples: Abraham – Gen.12:1-4 Jacob – Gen.31:30 Israel in Egypt – cf.Gen.15:13,14 (1 Pet 1:17 KJV) And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: (Gen 12:1 KJV) Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee: (Gen 31:30 KJV) And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father's house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods? (Gen 15:13-14 KJV) And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; {14} And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

  7. Remember This World is Not Our Home (Mat 6:19-21 KJV) Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: {20} But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: {21} For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (Col 3:1-2 KJV) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. {2} Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. We must not conform to the world Rom.12:2; Jas.4:4; 2 Cor.6:17-7:1; 1 Jn.2:5 We must not “get used to” this world Acts 17:16; 2 Pet.2:7,8 How do we keep ourselves from it? Be careful about attitude– Col.3:1,2 Be careful about treasures– Matt.6:19-21 Be careful about friendships– 1 Cor.15:33 (James 4:4 KJV) Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (Rom 12:2 KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (1 John 2:5-6 KJV) But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. {6} He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. (2 Cor 6:17-18 KJV) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, {18} And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.(2 Cor 7:1 KJV) Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (2 Pet 2:7-8 KJV) And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: {8} (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;) (Acts 17:16 KJV) Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry. (1 Cor 15:33 KJV) Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

  8. Remember Heaven is Our Home We must develop the “heart of a sojourner” Ex.23:9 Being away from home we live by faith 2 Cor.5:6-8; Heb.11:1 To have the “heart of a sojourner”… Read and study about heaven Meditate about it Talk and sing about it (Exo 23:9 KJV) Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. (Heb 11:1 KJV) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

  9. Phil.1:21-23– “21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. 22 But if to live in the flesh, --if this shall bring fruit from my work, then what I shall choose I know not. 23 But I am in a strait betwixt the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ; for it is very far better:”

  10. Plan of Salvation • Hebrews 11:6(KJV) 6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. • Luke 13:3(KJV) 3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. • Romans 10:10(KJV) 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. • Acts 2:38(KJV) 38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. • Rev 2:10 (KJV) …be thou faithful unto death and I will give thee a crown of life.
