In order to explain to you my motives to work in education particularly for the young girls, I will tell you the story of Jana.
Jana is 12 years old. She is from a small village of the Tndjouare region, about thirty kilometres from Dapaong, in Togo. She is the oldest children of 5. Her mother, 32 years old, is expecting a 6th child.
Jana went to school when she was 6 years old. After, she went only few days by month. She worked really hard at school, even if her parents cannot afford to pay for the books and pens. She relied on her memory only.
When her mother gave birth to her twin sisters, Jana had to quit school. Her mother could not carry two babies on her back, so Jana had to help her. In fact, Jana helped her mother in every task and she did it very well.
Now, her father think that she is ready to get married. That could allow him to settle down an old dept that he has with a 43 years old widower from the next village.
