  2. ABOUT ELLERN MEDE Ellern Mede has been providing evidence-based specialized treatment for children and young people with eating disorders since 2000. We support children and young people with a full care pathway to achieve exceptional rates of recovery in Binge Eating Disorder.

  3. BINGE EATING DISORDER Binge Eating Disorder (BED) is characterised by a person regularly eating more food in a short period of time than most people would eat under similar circumstances. But importantly, in a person with BED, the episodes are very upsetting, marked by strong feelings of lack of control, guilt and shame.

  4. BINGE EATING DISORDER TREATMENT According to the National Institute for Health Research, more or less half of all people who suffer from binge eating disorders in the U.K. also suffer from depression or were depressed in the past. Most people also have trouble managing emotions. They turn to food when they are angry, bored, worried, stressed, or sad. Therefore, instead of cutting calories, you should turn to a professional binge eating treatment programme that will help you manage your emotions, deal with stress, and overcome depression. Once you have resolved your emotional issues, food will no longer be something that you turn to every time you go through emotional turmoil. In other words, with the right treatment, you will be able to establish a healthy relationship with food and losing weight will be much easier.
