MuseMulti-user Universal Search Environment • Muse is an Internet service offering searching of available Internet and Intranet information sources for any organization. • It is not a search engine. • It utilizes the power and specialization of existing search engines by asking questions of them and combining the results. • It will search the Web, library catalogs, information databases, and other sources. • It provides Extended Services to allow post-processing of retrieved information

The Technology - Syntax & Formats • Internal data (XML, Q.DC, tree structure) • Comms (TCP/IP, Z39.50, http, telnet,etc.) • Searches (RPN, CCL, SQL, O-URL, etc.) • Records (HTML, MARC, SUTRS, etc.) • Internal canonical forms (ISR, IDR) • Mapped display formats • Actions (SIP2, NCIP, SOAP, etc.)
