  1. Stability Stability is whether or not an object’s Line of Action remains within the object, for example these cubes are at different stages in being turned over. Two of them are balanced whilst the other two have the line of action leading to out side the object, the side at which the line extrudes from the object decides which side it falls to therefore the two shapes in the middle will topple

  2. How Do Forces Have A Turning Effect MASS Pivot Length A turning effect or ‘Moment’ is the product of the force and perpendicular distance between the force and pivot(distance). Moments occur in two directions, anticlockwise and clockwise. When both the clockwise and anti clockwise moments are equal it is known as an equilibrium and both sides are balanced. If one moment exceeds that of its counterpart the object will turn in that particular direction.
