  1. Daniel Fine Self-portrait taken at 12:01p on 9/20/11 The aesthetics of my world in twenty-four hours…

  2. Hierarchy Based on the triangle of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and the Design Hierarchy of Needs, I created a house of cards. This is a metaphor for my life right now, which feels very fragile; school being a big gamble and at any moment the cards could come crashing down.

  3. Hierarchy Rule 1 It is al l about Arizona State University.

  4. Hierarchy Rule 2 The last forty-eight hours have been determined by geography. I have not moved outside of the squares bounded by Mill Ave, Broadway Rd., University Dr. and College Ave.

  5. Hierarchy Rule 3 My life is dictated by time, like the numbers on a playing card.

  6. Aesthetic Experiences The bottom of the house of cards are the functional things that I must do to move forward in order for the rules to be met and the house to stay upright. I am greeted each day with the reliability of homework and commuting, as I seek to move through the space around me and collaborate with my community. I slowly am becoming proficient at the delicate act of balancing work, family, self-care and sustenance - all of which combine to inform and feed my creativity.
