  2. ACHIEVEMENTS 2001-2002 • FUNDING • Developed business plans according to which we funded Nf’s • Bus Plans contained projects • Developed a new funding policy • Developed a procedures manual • Developed monitoring procedures • 13 Episodes of Siyadlala - FUNDING, POLICY AND LIAISON

  3. Transfer payments • Beneficiaries: • Development: 27427 participants in 502 projects • International Participation: 1249 participants in 237 projects FUNDING, POLICY AND LIAISON

POLICY AND MONITORING • Revised White Paper • Developed guidelines on ethics in sport • Signed performance agreements with 32 national federations • HIV/Aids Awareness • Major PSL matches, Cricket Stadiums • LoveLife Games • Aids Day programme in Attridgeville SPORT AND RECREATION SOUTH AFRICA FUNDING, POLICY AND LIAISON

POLICY AND MONITORING • Colloquium on Racism in Sport • Printed report on proceedings of the Colloquium • Hosted workshop on school sport with NFs • Drafted Transformation in Sport Policy document • Participated in • Integrated Youth Development Programme – Alexandra • Interdepartmental programme – Heritage Day SPORT AND RECREATION SOUTH AFRICA FUNDING, POLICY AND LIAISON

LIAISON • Signed New agreements with: Cuba, China, Egypt and Mozambique • Under the Programmes of Action we sent: • Three persons to Canada (SASC) • Three Persons to France (NOCSA, SAFA, SASC) • Two Korfball Coaches to Flanders • 1 Student to Cuba • Visited Mauritius to negotiate POA (SRSA) • Visit to UK (state visit) SPORT AND RECREATION SOUTH AFRICA FUNDING, POLICY AND LIAISON

LIAISON • Under the Programme of Action we hosted • Cuban High Performance Sport expert • Netherlands Handball coach • Canadian Games CEO • 2 Flemish Korfball coaches to SA • 2 Algerian Volleyball Coach • Tunisian Handball Coach • Govt delegations from: Saudi Arabia, Flanders, Netherlands, Mozambique SPORT AND RECREATION SOUTH AFRICA FUNDING, POLICY AND LIAISON

FUNDING 2002/3 • Interim MTT report proposed greater focus – less federations • We propose 2 areas of focus: • Those NFs most likely to produce medals • Those NFs most likely to increase participation • Athlete & Coaches Assistance Programme • Coordination SRSA, SASC, NOCSA SPORT AND RECREATION SOUTH AFRICA FUNDING, POLICY AND LIAISON
