Antitrust Admonition ANTITRUST ADMONITION ERCOT strictly prohibits Market Participants and their employees who are participating in ERCOT activities from using their participation in ERCOT activities as a forum for engaging in practices or communications that violate the antitrust laws. The ERCOT Board has approved guidelines for members of ERCOT Committees, Subcommittees and Working Groups to be reviewed and followed by each Market Participant attending ERCOT meetings. If you have not received a copy of these Guidelines, copies are available at the Client Relations desk. Updates / Questions / Reminders • Updates • Sandbox Release • Notifications released to resolve final issues • Planned Release on 10/10/07 will Resolve the Following Issues • Notification message return “Submitted” instead of “Accepted” • Get (Query) call cannot be executed for full day • Submitting multiple breakpoints in an output schedule gets translated incorrectly • Market Submissions Whitepaper Update • Market Submission Whitepaper has undergone a significant re-write in working through issues with Market feedback, input from ABB, and within ERCOT • ERCOT plans to release for Market comments by October 5th • Plan review at TPTF for October 22-23 • Development Update • We’re working on our next release with some high priority reported defects.  Currently in testing. • Query by Date: Only the trading date and a product type is supplied, where only the bids, offers, schedules and trades for that trading date of the specified product type will be returned. This is done using a partial (shortened) mRID in the form ‘<QSE>.<date>.<product>’, such as ‘SOMEQSE.20081112.COP’. • Sandbox Proposal • Problem – Current Sandbox MMS Simulator Code base was intended as a temporary solution to allow MP’s to test new transactions • Problem - Current implementation of the MMS Simulator is problematic. • Answer – to implement a canned response feature (for “get” queries) that will always return the same response regardless of submission http://nodal.ercot.com 6

Phase 2 Review • October 5th - QSE’s will receive RARF Data and offer curves • Verify resource data consistency • Review naming conventions and QSE-ID • October 6th – 14th – QSE Prepare COP and TPO’s • Use offer curve data provided on 10/5 for generating TPO • Prepare to send these daily • October 15th • Begin sending daily COP and TPO for entire portfolio • November • Validation of resource specific base points and LMPs • ERCOT will be testing SCED • ERCOT will be evaluating performance and • A “submission window” will be implemented in order to simulate a focused load • Submission windows will be discussed on the 10/12 Market Call http://nodal.ercot.com 8
