Characters • Kino-young and strong, honest, pearl diver,ready to sacrifice anything for his family,brave and courage…. • Juana-strong like a man,respectful,hardworking,caring,loyal,responsible to her family…. • Coyotito-a happy child,likes to laugh,a strong will to survive,very close to mother…. • Juan tomas-helpful,understanding,wise….

  5. Moral Values • One must not be greedy • -the doctor is greedy • -the priest is greedy fo donations to repair his church • We must help each other • -juan tomas is willing to help kino by hidding him in his house • -apolonia helps to pack some food for kino journey

Setting • The village-the indian mexican are poor The fisherman who live in brush houses. • area is rural and facilities are poor.. • The neighbours generally respect and care for one another. • The mountains-mountains can also symbolise obstacles to be overcome. • The cave in the mountain can be symbolise of death, • Mountains can also represent rebirth
