Expanding the scope of RR data Acute Kidney Injury • All patients dialysed in the Renal Unit - PD & HD • Start collecting data at FIRST dialysis session • Include patients only having 1 or 2 sessions Chronic Kidney Disease • All patients with GFR > 30 • Low Clearance patients • Conservative Care patients • Pre RRT Patients UK Renal Registry 2013 Annual Informatics Meeting

New EDTA Primary Renal disease codes • From 1st January 2014 • Use new EDTA codes for diagnosis coding for all new patients • New field for new code - ERFAJ • New codes – 272 – more detailed - more specific • New codes map to SNOMED CT • List of new codes and mapping available on RR website UK Renal Registry 2013 Annual Informatics Meeting

  7. Ethnicity • Discontinue Read codes for ethnic groups • Replace with standard NHS codes • Enable direct use of codes on PAS systems • Z code for refused / not stated UK Renal Registry2013 Annual Informatics Meeting

Changes to improve data quality • Monthly blocks with date for every blood test and measurement STOP quarterly block • All drugs and prescriptions , start and stop dates submit quarterly list • Comorbidity with dates of diagnosis – 1 block cumulative data • Haemodialysis block – data for every session

Changes • Transplant block with date of graft, unit where surgery done, including abroad, Date of failureAll other transplant data will be direct from NHSBT • Haemodialysis block – data for every session • Peritoneal Dialysis block including combined KT/V • Dialysis Access , creation, usage, interventions, complications, infections

  10. Implementation dates • New EDTA codes Jan 2014 • For Consultation: • Ethnicity • Monthly results • Medications • Comorbidity • Dialysis Access data • All patients with GFR < 30
