    2. Sales Order Shipping Process Shipping Entry Simplified entry to record shipments by keyboard or scanner Allow tracking of package contents by item Simultaneously creates invoices Expanded package tracking includes Starship integration Packing List Printing Optionally print just packing list, just invoice, or both Master Packing List contains whole order Packing Lists by box contents also available Shipping Exception Report Shows changes made during shipping entry Shipping History Reprint packing lists if desired To implement the pick, pack, ship process we have added a new shipping data entry program to MAS 90. This allows warehouse workers to easily record shipments using the standard keyboard or an optional attached scanner. Controls can be set to allow a warehouse worker to perform certain tasks such as scanning items to be shipped , but prevent him from changing a warehouse or shipping method. We used the Invoice Data Entry files to create the shipping data entry program, so the shipper is simultaneously creating invoice records while creating the Packing List. The shipping system allows tracking of package contents by item, which we believe is a feature currently unique to MAS 90. For flexibility, you can print only the packing list, only the invoice, or both. And if you choose to track package contents by item, you can print a master packing list with everything in the order on it, and individual packing lists as well. The Shipping Exception Report will note changes made to the original sales order during shipping data entry, such as an alternate item or a change of the shipping method, to provide an audit trail. And of course theres complete shipping history with reporting capabilities and the ability to reprint packing lists if necessary. To implement the pick, pack, ship process we have added a new shipping data entry program to MAS 90. 3. Shipping Data Entry Lines Panel Heres the first screen of Shipping Data Entry, the lines panel. You can see the Shipper ID, which is a unique identifier for each worker in the warehouse. Note the field for package next to the item description. You can see the number of the package the item is being placed in. You can also see the Backorder button next to the backordered items. If you highlight the item, enter the quantity you are shipping, then click the backordered button, all remaining quantities on the line will be backordered. To speed entry, theres a Ship Remaining button at the bottom of the order which behaves the somewhat like the ship order complete button currently in Invoice Data Entry. 4. Shipping Data Entry - Shipping The Shipping Panel contains all of what you would typically call header information, such as the Ship to Address, Terms Code, and Freight information. Note the new field in the upper right corner called SO Created by. This is the initials of the order entry person who created the order, and has been added to shipping entry to let warehouse personnel know who should be contacted about this order in the event changes need to be made. We think one of the most exciting parts of this release is the unique way in which Shipping Data Entry integrates with the leading shipping system provider in the middle-market, StarShip. Note the StarShip button on this panel. Selecting this button takes you directly to the Manifest entry screen in StarShip. 12. StarShip Link-Seamless Processing Shipping information is quickly and accurately retrieved from the order: Ship-to name and address Ship via P.O. number C.O.D. and amount Declared value But whats the glue that holds this all together? The StarShip Link. The Link is a bi-directional link between MAS 90 and StarShip. MAS 90 pushes to StarShip the ship-to name and address, ship via method, Customer PO number, COD and amount and the declared value of the items being shipped. 14. Map Ship Via & Terms Codes Another key element of the Link is that we made it easy for existing customers to add StarShip. Established companies already have their terms codes and ship via codes set up in MAS 90, and they are, of course, sprinkled throughout the data in an established company. So, from MAS 90 Shipping Setup Options you can access the Ship Via and Terms Codes mapping. These two options allow you to match the codes in MAS 90 with their corresponding codes in StarShip, thus eliminating tedious data entry in either program. And, since StarShip allows you to identify options like Hazardous Materials handling or Delivery Confirmations you can add Ship Via methods for those services to MAS 90 and have the ability to easily add those charges to your invoices.Another key element of the Link is that we made it easy for existing customers to add StarShip. 15. StarShip Shipping Manifest Heres what you see when you click on the StarShip button I mentioned earlier. Note that the Company information and Shipping method came in directly from MAS 90. I mapped the MAS 90 shipping method of UPS Blue to correspond with 2nd Day Air in Starship. Once I entered the weight in the appropriate field, the Package Service Charge calculated. 18. Hardware Requirements 40 MB of available disk space Modem connected to analog line To upload manifests Available serial (COM) port if using electronic scale Available serial (COM) or parallel (LPT) port for thermal label printer Hardware requirements for StarShip are virtually the same as for MAS 90. Youll want to ensure a minimum of 40 MB of available disk space before installation, and a users machine should have a modem if you want to upload manifests at the end of the day. Since StarShip integrates with an electronic scale, youll need an available serial port to attach the scale, and a serial or parallel port to attach a thermal label printer. 19. Optional Hardware Electronic Scale Transcell SPL 150, PC 150, SRP 300 or Toledo PS6L Prices Range from $575-995 Thermal Label Printers Eltron Orion Thermal Direct Zebra Z4000 Thermal Printer Prices range from $595-2000 Hand-held bar code scanner Various manufacturers and prices No special scanner programming required On this slide Ive listed the model numbers and brands of electronic scales and thermal label printers that are currently supported by V-Technologies with StarShip. StarShip supports other scales. They happen to sell the Transcell and Toledo because they have been reliable and cost-effective. A list of supported scales can be found on the V-Technologies web site. Here you can see the price range so you can have an estimate of the total cost of ownership before making a decision. For hand-held scanners, since there is no special scanner programming requirement, virtually any wedge-type scanner that will interact with your PC should work. Note: The wedge-type scanner goes through the keyboard buffer. It acts just as if someone would have typed the number in manually. After the 60 days, it is recommended to enroll in the Subscription Plan. This includes all maintenance releases as well as carrier rate/service changes.

    21. StarShip or Bar Code? The answer may be both, depending on what the customer needs to do in the warehouse If customer needs StarShip and wants the integration with MAS 90, he doesnt need the Bar Code module to use a scanner Picking Sheets can be printed with bar codes on them without owning the BC module Bar Code is still the answer for receiving goods and for physical counts
