  1. Choose species to appear on left side of reaction Balance reactions with these entries. Balance reactions among aqueous species, minerals, and gases.

  2. Go to the results pane and click Run to write a balanced reaction.

  3. Click “+” button to expand output. View log K's at the principal temperatures. log K value for specified temperature Calculate equilibrium constants.

  4. Create a balanced reaction with Hematite. Set activity of water and Fe++ Choose pH and Eh units. Figure equilibrium equations.

  5. Equation for equilibrium line is written in terms of Eh and pH.

  6. Balance reaction between Gypsum and Anhydrite. Set the water activity to 0.7 to simulate equilibrium in a brine. Determine equilibrium temperatures.

  7. Anhydrite, a dehydrated mineral, is the stable phase above 11.8 ºC in a brine.
